you have high defintion textures but ropes are still looking ugly or artificial ?
here is the hd texture replacer in 2048x256 or 1024x128. finer textures and an optional desaturated version.
includes now smim, riften, markarth, solstheim ropes and ship ropes

Resized and exclusively designed HD (2048x256) rope texture for skyrim.
now including smim, riften, markarth, solstheim ropes and ship rope textures.
it beautifies many ugly or artificial looking ropes in skyrim and even in many landscape related mods.

my personal favorite is the dark, more worn option, now standard with v2.4. smim folder is included if you want to use my ropestyle instead of the smim style.
smim mod v2.04 incl. meshes is needed for full 3D rope experience (see screenshots).
copy texture folder into the data folder or use mod organizer (at the end of all loaded textures) and thats it.
if you prefer the smim rope style just delete the smim folder in the zip file.
After installation archive invalidation is recommended or simply use a mod manager, i recommend mo.
as this is a texture replacer mod this texture should not be overwritten by another mod.
** SMIM-Mod for better rope mesh is strongly recommended. Be aware not to overwrite the smim 3d rope meshes by other mods. overwriting the smim rope meshes leads to flat, non 3D ropes in game. for more info have a look at my sticky post
