Forwarning in my experience do not side with the imperials if you have this mod installed. The game believed I was on both the imperial and the stormcloak side and was giving me objectives for both. Causing the mission to be soft-locked.
This mod is completely broken. If you are only interested in getting Balgruuf to say in an unvoiced dialogue that he will side with Ulfric, and then go no further in the Civil War, then this mod will work for you. If you plan on progressing the Civil War to its conclusion, don't install. The Civil War is a Gordian knot of scripting, but I think you would need to do something like, once you report to Ulfric that Balgruuf has sided with him, Ulfric will tell you that, according to his spies in Whiterun, there was a coup and Hrongar has taken over and called upon the Legion troops. That way the Battle of Whiterun could be fought and all of the aliases would be filled in properly, Hrongar could go into exile and Balgruf could be re-instated as Jarl. You could also do things like have Nazeem be the steward for Hrongar, and Commander Caius his housecarl, and get those annoying characters off the streets of Whiterun without having to resort to murder!
I absolutely love this mod. I just want to side with the Stormcloaks and keep Balgruuf in power, and that's exactly what it does.
The only issue is that the Fort Neugrad quest seems to be broken for me. When it gives me the objective to "Meet with the men at Fort Neugrad", where Ralof and the others are supposed to be, I get to the spot where the quest marker is, but no one's there. Looking back at the comments, this was apparently supposed to be fixed with version 1.2, and so I updated this mod to v1.2 (accidentally installed 1.0) but the bug persists. Is there any way around it?
I had the same problem except the fort was loaded with bandits instead of Imperials. That and the stormcloak prisoners were running around loose getting themselves killed..
It is, as long as losing the Whiterun is experimental feature of Open Civil War... You don't want to see jarl Balgruuf exchanging with jarl Balgruuf scene, although I can imagine it's hilarious...
And it still has all the bugs this mod has.
For these reasons, I'll be working soon on a quest mod in this area, tentatively codenamed "Brothers in Mars". It's meant to be a standalone mod rather than a feature of OCW, if only to say: hey, it's not compatible with Civil War Overhaul :fakeweep:
How's that mod coming along, Simtam? I'm really curious about it, and I wanna join the Stormcloaks, but don't wanna lose Balgruuf as Jarl, BUT I also don't wanna risk my save being fried.
Hello! Thanks a lot for the mod! This is just what I needed! But I meet a problem, since Balgruuf was ok to go with Ulfrick, I have to go to the fort neograd (This part is ok). But there is no imperials, only brigands and the stormcloak prisoners are... "half-free", they have no cage but ask to release them (but there is no prison so I can't, so I can't continue in the quest) and they leave their place to attack brigands. And, I can also talk to jarl balgruuf with the text that make him go againt the stormcloak (if it's not normal). I don't use the Civil War mod so this is not the problem. (I don't think it's the problem, but in case: My game is in french, if it's a problem for programming). thank you in advance for your help!
