Hi, is not too clare for me. Example: When i equip the compass, and in journal i activate only one quest with her quest markers, the compass show me direction for being in? Like Clairvoyance spell?
No sorry, it only tells which direction you are facing. You can face a direction and set that as a custom heading too with the spell. I wanted to make it be able to point to your custom map marker, but I couldn't find it in the Creation Kit.
I took a look at this mod in TES5edit and it overwrites all the default races. Any particular reason why? It makes this mod incompatible with popular mods that modify races such as Imperious and Requiem without a patch.
Is for modifyng the slot for equipment in the right place for the compass. Is same for other mod, like Left Hand Rings Modified. Nothing dangerous and iper-incompatible, you should create a patch in 3 minutes without a problem
Happy to see there is an actual working handheld compass. I hope someday maybe the holding animation could be improve for it. But either way I'm happy to have this
This looks awesome. Any chance of moving it to the Misc section for crafting? Or making it something we could find in the wild? On a body or in a cave, maybe? My character is not a blacksmith.
Hey thanks Even though it's under the Dwarven section you should still be able to craft it at any time, as the recipe doesn't have any perk requirements, but I could also add it to Calcemo as well so that you can buy it from him.
Endorsed this slice of awesomeness because it is amazing and because I have been looking for something exactly like this. I had to fiddle in TESV edit to get it showing but now it works magnificently! I wanted to leave you some feedback that I hope is helpful/constructive because I really do love the idea!
1- The position of the compass when being held is tilted slightly (north is askew). I don't know why but this trips something in my OCD. I know that the function of it is correct i.e. if I set it to true north it points there reliably, just the tilt..I would love to rotate it myself if could figure out how.
2- This is nothing on your mod, just a personal wish, because I hate first person arms, but using the experimental third person arms with the Enhanced Camera plugin (more consistency between 1st/3rd person, and animation mods yay!) makes the compass literally impossible to see because of how the fists are held in relation to the camera. If I was a bit more capable at fiddling with skeletons or animations I would already be trying to get these things to play nice together at least for my personal use. For now I have to choose between your awesome compass or the consistency and it is truly a difficult choice.
Anyway, your mod rocks and so do you! Keep on keepin on friend.
Thanks mate glad you like the mod. I see what you mean about the compass position, I may rotate it at some point, but it's kind of a b*tch to do because not only do you have to rotate the compass but you have to rotate all 32 needles with it. I may still get around to it though.
About the enhanced camera, you might try messing around with your field of view and see if that helps. I've never done animations so I can't help you there. Anyways thanks again for the endorsement and feedback, I appreciate it!
Hi I can't play in Skyrim without more realistic mods like Frostfall - Hypothermia Camping Survival by Chesko, Realistic Needs and Diseases by perseid9, Wet and Cold by isoku, Real Shelter - Full Release by ThreeTen, Duel - Combat Realism by Gabriel Mailhot as LogRaam. I DON'T use Fast travel just my own feet or horse. Also I play without compass. During my journey I use 3D Paper World Map by Warburg, but always I feel something missing....some navigation tool

Mistic and needle sound are really nice. Sound can be weird a bit if loading a cell while having compass equipt because it will still play, guess Skyrim engine. Also, is it posible to disable at least needle sound when having compass equipt while having compass NOT drawn ?
Was thinking maybe you should do an ENB version with more gray gloss maps, not every player knows how to use photoshop. Without editing gloss map and with my darkest ENB use, it looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/hgeO3gi.png It's even more shinny with like kountervibe ENB.
Hey thanks, yeah must be an engine thing. Do you mean disable the sound when you sheathe your hands? That should be possible. And wow yeah that is bright, I'll upload an optional file with darker glow maps and textures. Also what mod are those Spriggins from?

Think Spriggins are from latest Skyrim Immersive Creatures mod. Yeah i ment it like that... i like the needle sound when i actually look at compass, but when i sheathe it and start running, needle still dings. Thought maybe it would be better if needle is silent then.
Yep, Spriggans are a part of my hardcore difficulty setup, compass just fits perfectly. Thank you for the mod, sure I'm gonna nagg when i get some more ideas
Got one What do you think about unequipping weapon in right hand automaticaly when equipping compass ? Usually while having sword in right hand and equipping compass, compass just clips in weapon.
Ha, I knew you'd think of something else . I was thinking of doing that originally for weapons and spells and having it equip the spell or weapon again when you un-equip the compass, but the scripts are already doing a bunch of stuff and wasn't sure how it would perform. I suppose it's not too much more so I'll try it out and see how it goes.
Ok I uploaded a new version with those changes. It's actually way simpler than I thought it would be, and works pretty well. Sometimes there is a slight delay between equipping the compass and un-equipping the weapon or spell, but that's probably cause I have so many mods installed lol.
Very nice Haha, i also have 255 plugins running and a lot of script mods No delay on empty skyrim. Is it posible to also add automatic compass unequip, when somebody wants to equip "weapon or spell" without preunequipping the compass ? Maybe this equip/unequip problems could be solved with just using a hotkey for equipping it.
Awesome, instant more immersion booom !! I just made texture colors a bit darker in photoshop for cohesion with my ENB settings. Now only thing left to do is figuring out how it works.
Yeah i did But have a problem tho. Whenever i set direction to true north or my direction as new north, the needle snaps to "north" correctly. When i move aftewards to left needle should snap to right, but needle goes in same direction as i'm moving.
Other thing is that it clips with some armor, so i had an idea where compass could just levitate in air with some kinda slight magical effect. I mean it's magical compass afterall
Good to hear and that's how the compass is supposed to work. The needle points to the direction you are facing in relation to your heading. So if north is north, and you're heading west the needle will point to "west" or left. If you set a new heading and the needle is pointing left, it means you have to turn to the right to get back on course.
Thanks for the heads up about the clipping. I like the idea of it levitating, I'll look into it, adding the effects I mean. It probably won't be for a while though cause that means repositioning the compass and every needle with it. Right now I'm working on having the option to set the max needle positions to 8, 16 or 32 in game and optimizing the script.

Yeah I like the idea of playing a sound effect. I did feel like the compass was missing something and I think that's it. For the levitating remodel I'll make the needle fatter. Thanks for the feedback, cheers!
Hey I just uploaded the new version. Sorry it took so long, I've been super busy lately and haven't had much time for modding. I added sound effects and the compass will hover above the hand a bit now, hopefully that fixes the clipping issues. I'm still looking into adding the visual effects.
I play the temptress custom race, went into the CK and added 59/60 to first person view. I still can't see it in first person. Any idea what else I can do to try to get it working?
