I tried this mod with Skyrim Special Edition. It looks way too bright in Skyrim Special Edition. It makes my game crash upon entering a cell containing an empty common soul gem. However, after converting all textures with DirectXTex texconv.exe using BC7 UNORM compression, it fixes the crashing problem. Re-saving the ESP plugin in the 64-bit Creation Kit corrupts the plugin for me, causing soul gems to be impossible to be picked up. Just using the plugin as is seems to work. However soul gems do look way too bright.

pretty sure you have a mods conflict as the plugin is one of the simplest ever. I used "Soul Gems Differ" in Oldrym but with DDSopted textures. Maybe you can try this option.
I'm no expert, but I believe Skyrim Special Edition handles textures differently, and that may be-at least part of-why the textures don't look as intended.
So i got my game crashing randomly and acting weirdly like filled soul gems didn't show up. Turns out it's not at all fault of this mod, but specific faulty NMM instructions. I skip installing glow, and all it happens is just that. So i manually copy some stuff (figure out i need to install the glow because the meshes file are there) like how the Manual Installation instructions told me after seeing the complains below, lo and behold, it works, although many of the gem colors didn't change like the installer told me. The fault is either on NMM's new version conflicting with the installation script, or the installation script is just bad.
If anyone using this mod (sort-friendly and/or weightless version) alongside Immersive Sounds Compendium (or another flavor of it that edits the sounds soul gems make when picked up), note that load order will affect the features you get: 1) if you load Immersive Sounds Compendium AFTER Soul Gems Differ, you will get the textures, but not the sort-friendliness, and possibly not the weightlessness. 2) if you load Soul Gems Differ AFTER Immersive Sounds Compendium, you will get the textures, the sort-friendliness, and the weightlessness, but not the sound soul gems make when you pick them up.
hey there, had a question, im trying to make gemstones out of the soul gems and im wondering how you removed the default purple hue or glow, or whatver it is?
The dull red variant for filled black soul gems isn't extracted via the script. Only entry to this folder in the script is "202 Black - Empty - Black - with hints of dull red".
I installed the sort-friendly weightless version, with custom color and glow options, but the sorting isn't applying to all of the gems I: EDIT: The issue was my load order. I'm also using Acquisitive Soul Gems, and didn't realize that when I last ran LOOT, it switched these mods in the load order so I fixed that as per the description.
help i had SGD installed an working almost perfectly(the sorting didnt apply to all gems) so i uninstalled and reinstalled and now none of the gems have textures applied and filled ones are invisible(didnt choose same options as last time)

eg. You only use the vanilla weighted and unsorted gem option in the installer. I just want the textures, and would really like to know.

I have copied it manually after…
