    Sticky
Dear All, Due to Academic preoccupation, I will be unable to extend the mod until July this year,

However, any bugs will be fixed as reported.

    Thank you, and merry Christmas

I love this mod so much. Immersion levels are through the roof. I've considered off and on getting a mod that unlocks perk requirements for higher tier perks, but after thinking about it, I decided against it. To compare, it doesn't make sense to be able to read and understand trig if I haven't learned simple arithmetic yet.

The only thing that bugs me about this mod is that some locations where you would expect certain perk books to be just aren't there. For example, one would expect to find pretty much all the magical perk books in the Arcaneum at the College of Magic in Winterhold. And lo and behold, they are! But one might also expect to find all of the speechcraft perk books at the Bard's College in Solitude... but they aren't. In fact the only location I've found ANY speechcraft books is in Belethor's shop in Whiterun, and then it's only a small collection of a random assortment of perks. I don't know if this is just a glitch and the books ARE supposed to be in the Bard's College and a mod I have might be editing the world space to the point that the books are just gone. Goodness knows some of those magic perk books in the arcaneum are hard to get at since Immersive College of Winterhold mod causes a good number of them to end up jammed in between the bookshelves... Would be nice if some of these books were added to some shopkeep's sell lists since it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for some of these books to be this rare, especially the starting perk books.

Still, it's not TOO crippling to deal with. I do have -Uncapper- set to make skill leveling not apply to player leveling, which means I pretty much can't get any perk points that way, but then I do have two separate mods that add dragon soul to perk point conversion (which makes sense if you consider that you're stealing a lifetime's worth of experience from an immortal dov) so it's not too much of an issue.

The general consensus is, based on the way Skyrim works and retains data, there is no way you can safely uninstall a mod (with the exception of texture/model replacers that don't require an ESP/ESM file). Therefore the only way to completely remove a mod is to revert to a save prior to installing it, otherwise you're taking a chance the mod leaves something behind; somethings that thing can be benign and harmless but some mods can cause problems.

This mod seems pretty pervasive in its scope so I'd say no there is no way to guarantee a safe uninstallation.

That being said, the impact of removing this mod should be minimal.

I´m sorry if this has already been answered. I looked for the answer in the posts and description but I couldn´t find it.
I have a couple of mods that alter Perk Trees (CACO, Smithing Perks Overhaul). I see that some people are not having issues with CACO. Anyway, any conflicts with Immersive Levelling that I should be aware of?
    Thanks!!

      Hi,

we already talked via PM yesterday, but I will post my latest test results here for all others:
I disabled IL, started a new game and saw indeed some effect on the skills.. buuuut it affected destruction magic and not alchemy.
(Though it did not fix the problem which I actually was looking to solve >:-[)
But I use Disparity as well, so I can not even be sure if this is really a prob between CACO and IL or between Disparity an CACO.
Keep in mind that there are NO patches for IL, as (I refer to a statement of pdurak here) a patch would be larger than IL itself.

So this is a little like "try & error".
(From my experience, I can tell you that you can install IL on an existing save without any issues, though it's more fun on a fresh game)

Fellas, this mod has only three scripts attached to nothing, so Installing on a clean save makes no difference. CACO is compatible in principle, it can override the gameplay changes to the perks by IL. Disparity however is incompatible, as I found out recently. So,

FabriSil - use at will, though the text of the books and the actual effects might differ. In case of smithing I woluld recommend you load it after IL)

diaboliclady - unfortunately, that's an incompatible mod, and unfrotunately I don't have the time to make a patch.

Hi Pdurak. I'm planning to start a new game with your mod as main levelling improvement but I have some yes/no questions:

    1. Can I find a high level perk books at first levels?
    2. it's needed to get some skill level to learn the perk by the book, guard, etc.?
    3. Is the old Perk system disabled except for some Weapon and Armour Specialization Perks only?
    4. Is the Perk Efficiency Scaling AUTO leveled so I don't have to choose it manually?
    5. Did you balanced the "easy" vanilla tree perks in some way?

I hope you don't feel like on a psychoanalysis divan with this questionnaire... Thanks in advance.

      Hi,

I am not Pdurak, but I can help with some things:

      1. Yes.
      2. Yes, the books only provide addional perk points on certain skills to improve the vanilla system.
      3. No, the old system remains, it is just an "add on", if you want to put it like this ;-)
      4. No idea, sorry.
      5. Don't think so, should still be the same, though some were renamed.

      1. it was design oversight, additionally low level perk books won't become less frequent on high levels.
      2. The requirements aren't removed and in fact, most of the smithing tree and Ligth?HEavy armour have been heightened.
      3. No, but I strongly recommend for Lore-friendlyness to use an uncapper preset that either removes granted perks completely or adds them less frequently.
      4. Yes, 'tis completely automatic. For example, the light armour perks will only scale your defense rating for a cetain type of armour. If you're perfectly happy with leather, you can still get the maximum protection from it by investing just one perk point.
      5. Yes and in a more sensible fashion. Now skill of light armour will scale your rating from 0.5 to 2.0, (vanilla was 1.0 to 2.0) and Heavy Armour will scale from 1.0 to 1.5. The same goes for weaponry as weapons should indeed differ in more than just the damage value and weight. So By all means the perks have been rebalanced. Additionally, since the mod is overpowered without the uncapper, and using either of the presets means scaling skill above 100, the maximum efficiency is achieved at skill 150, not 100. So you'll find high-level encounters more challenging.

One minor bug to report. It sems that guards offering combat perks are not detecting some of a players current perks on vanilla trees and will offer "Archery" again once you have it. You can buy it again with no benefit. It seems to right itself after finding the second level “Archery" perk in book form. Not sure how widespread this is on the perk trees. This is in the latest final.

Just passing by to endorse this mod. I've been looking for this type of immersion in Skyrim since the beggining, and only almost 5 years later I found it here in this mod. Everything seems fine too: I even use the full version of Stealth Skills Rebalanced with this mod and never found any incompatibilities.
Also, I really found it fantastic that you put some references to DA's Sandal on the Enchanting tree!

Ah, I really, really wish there was a way to ensure compatibility with mods that alter perks and perk trees... Like the Merged Thievery Skill or the new and shiny CACO.

Omg i cannot believe my eyes, finally i can actually roleplay!
Im using an uncapper with 0 perks granted, i actually havea very lore friendly way of getting "epiphany" perks, dragon soul relinquishment! Together with this its perfect!!!!

I just spent a whole day installing mods and im gonna give this a test with empowered magic, corpse preparation, im gonna start out as a curious alchemy student that discovers magic (which totally works cus im a chemistry student irl)

I have noticed tho that no stealth books are hidden in the ragged flaggon, should i be worried or is the surprise worth it?

Sorry for taking so long to reply.

Yes. They're not in plain sight, so you best make double sure you've looked everywhere, but if you don't find any, this due to mod conflict. Anything that somehow Alters the Taverns and/or the Thieves Guild Quest line is the culprit.
