Im confused on how to actually use this. i select the character i want to play as, close the program, open skyrim, and the character still has not changed.
I've got the same problem...It seems like the present file does not contain anything like what is liked by everyone else previously and got me really excited...mine does not look anything like the pictures, doesn't load up any save whatsoever, doesn't matter where I extract it to and no Readme to be found anywhere? I really need this as I have lost my entire game and all my mods when my harddrive crashed...I need to resurrect my character ( I still have the saves thank goodness) and really need to know which mods to load omw Please help LeCarre? EDIT: I've seen a post on page 3 about running it with Mod Manager...I'm running Vortex with Profile Management atm...so how do I get around that? I just need to be able to see which mods I've run with my previous character ...pretty please?
Well, great, I've lost my save. So I make tons of characters a lot of the time and on my current run through I wanted to make another character but keep the one I already had. So i got this program. Open it, and at first, it still stayed on my old character. I would click on my save other saves and nothing would happen. And then once I closed it and opened it, the tick was now on a different character and now when I opened Skyrim it was using that characters save. But then when I tried going back to my other char it wasn't there. I have manually gone into the SK saves folder and deleted every single save but it still won't let me use my character again. And even when the program says it's selected my character, the game thinks the save isn't there. Thanks a lot mate. I was actually really enjoying that character.
How would I get this to work while also using Skyrim Mod Organizer? I cant seem to find a way to make it so Mod Organizer runs Skyrim so that it loads the saves selected by the Character manager.
lol, almost any program will get false hits with one scanner or another. I recommend you use web scanners to pass it thru multiple online scanners to determine if it's safe. When you scan it using 20 different scanners, and only 1 or 2 think it's not safe, and 18 say it's ok, then it's most likely safe.
I have Dual Sheath Redux, VioLens, A Matter of Time, SkyUI, and a couple other major things installed. They're fully functional on one character, but on the other they're not there at all. Why are the mods not carrying over?
Characters are separated, this is the principle function, when you change characters the mods for the "New" character are synced. So if the 2nd character has never used these mods, they are disabled by default. This allows characters to use greatly different mod setups and to change back and forth without 'tainting' any saves with unintended mods.

Option 1: In prefs change Manage Mods to off.
Or.. use NMM to turn them on, and then play the 2nd character and save once.
I'm feeling really dense right now because I can't get this to work. I was playing my character earlier when I installed this app. My daughter created a new character and played for a while. When I open the app I see her name with the checkbox by it. I select my character's name and it becomes the displayed name. I close the app, launch Skyrim, and it's still playing her character. If I then reopen this app, her character still has the checkbox next to it and is the displayed character. I can't seem to figure out how to actually switch between profiles. Any help would be greatly appreciated! This is on version 2.5.3.
What an amazing tool this is! This is the ONE fail Bethesda has continued over the course of releasing the greatest games the world has ever seen.
I downloaded the tool to use for Skyrim, and experienced the effect of a small bug. This wasn't a world-ender by any means, but I contacted the author and I was blown away by his willingness to help me get it working and his level of professionalism. I'm relatively new to the world of modding and user-generated content as I am also a console gamer, and I don't know how many tools like this exist, but I thought it warranted noting on here. If you're looking for a Bethesda game save manager, look no further.
Contact is the key word. It's hard to help someone that wont strike a conversation, as most problems posted don't contain any real details that make the problem clear enough to debug.

At this time the app can not Delete any files.
When you switch to a different char, and close it should work fine unless Steam Cloud has restored her file real fast
Watch what happens in the default character saves location while performing your tasks.
