    Contact Information
There has been very little traffick on this page lately, and with prod80 releasing the final version of the Weather Patch soon and moving on beyond Climates of Tamriel, I don't expect there will be much in the future. This means that I won't be checking for new comments here regularly anymore. If you have questions or otherwise would like to contact me, please send me a PM - that way I will be notified by email and can respond in a timely manner.

    Project Migration
prod80, Aiyen and I have pooled our resources to create a complete overhaul of CoT weathers over at the old Fog Patch page. My Snow Patch has been integrated into this combined project and is obsolete now. I will continue to support this page if anyone still wishes to use it, but it will not receive any further updates. At the moment I am very busy with my house mod so if you have any questions regarding the new Weather Patch prod80 is probably the person to talk to.

I can't express how much all your support mean to me, it's been great but now's the time to move on. Hope to see y'all at the new getaway!

This mod requires CoT v3.1! It will not work for the new v5.0 and I have no plans to update it.

So everything works great thus far except one thing, the white clouds/fog that move around the mountains will stay bright white even when clouds and fog become a dark grey. On the throat of the world looking down you can see white splotches everywhere in the grey weather that looks terrible. Any ideas? BTW using cot 3.1, this mod, and with an enb.

One of the settings in the ENB controls those effects, so you should be able to tone them down ingame. I'm a bit pressed for time right now, but I can look up which value it is once I get home.

Edit: I can't find the setting, maybe I remembered wrongly. Best ask on your ENB page for advice.

Just tried this to see if it would fix my blindingly bright snow clouds while an ENB is active.

Unfortunately it did not help, and I experienced purple water for the first time.

Are you using the new Climates of Tamriel v5.0?

This is great. I almost got rid of COT altogether and I could not figure out why anyone could stand bright purple oceans. This fixes all.

This makes COT look amazing! In fact it is basically required.

    Thanks for the great mod

I'm going to give this patch-mod a shot even though it's been labeled as obsolete. Running CoT+CoT Weather Patch here but I've been seeing that issue with *blazing* bright suns in snow-clear and blizzard weathers that this patch appears to address, among other nice things.

Actually my Snow Patch is included in the Weather Patch entirely. Are you sure you activated the appropriate .esp in the launcher? If I remember correctly there are several to choose from.

Indeed. I have CoT's ESM loaded right after the USKP patches and before the hi-res DLC unofficial patch, and I have CoT's Dawngurd ESP, the Weather Patch ESP, and Night Level 2 ESP from the Weather Patch loading one after the other in that order at the bottom of my load order.

I saw no obviously bad conflicts in TES5Edit, so I'm pretty sure I have the load order correct. Not sure what's going on since everything I read would suggest this is an already-fixed problem that I'm having. :P

EDIT: Forgot to mention, no ENBs.

Hm... do you use a mod for the snow textures? My Snow Patch simply reduces the sun intensity in the image spaces, but if the snow texture is too bright that might not be enough. Or maybe you're seeing a weather that I missed... does it happen in all regions/conditions, or just occasionally?

I'm using the vanilla snow textures so far as I'm aware, though I have the hi-res texture pack DLC along with the corresponding USKP patch installed. As for when and where, I've noticed it most often during clear mornings (around 7~9am or thereabouts) in mountainous areas such as near Mor Khazgur and in southern forest areas such as Falkreath, and once in a blizzard during the day (think it was around noon?) when I was standing right ouside Ancestor Glade.

Thank you for the help you've given me thus far, I really appreciate it. :)

How's the sunny weather around Winterhold? That's where I tested most. If the brightness is fine there, it most likely an imagespace I missed.

Edit: I just realised, Falkreath only has very few snowy regions. If I reduce sun intensity in any of it's weathers, it will also look less sunny everywhere else, even when there's no snow around. I think you would be better off looking for some slightly darker snow textures... I like to use HQ Snow, they're nice and unintrusive. If performance is an issue for you try the 1k version.

And you're welcome It's a good thing Nexus implemented the new notification system, or I might have missed your post entirely.

I'll give HQSnow and the appropriate imagespace patch (the -10% snow brightness one) from the Weather Patch a shot and see how that goes. :O

HQSnow (in 1K textures, equivalent to Hi-Res DLC so I don't need any bigger :P) and the -10% Snow Brightness patch worked beautifully. I tested in Winterhold and outside Ancestor Glade in Falkreath Hold, now I can actually see the clouds during a blizzard and not look like I have 10 suns blazing in my face when in blizzards or clear morning weather.

I'll inquire here again if I come across similar problems, but I think I can get back to adventuring in Skyrim now.

Thank you very much for your help, kudos to the CoT, CoT Weather Patch, and HQSnow devs! :D

Such a great mod. I've been suffering with that blinding snow for what seems like forever. I never did anything about it because I always thought it was imagespace modifier issue instead of a texture issue. Now I can explore the northern Holds during the daytime without inducing a headache after five minutes. Thank you

i thought id give this a try even though it doesnt state do fix my problem, my snow looks iffy, blizzard snow in particular when its snowing lightly or heavily it looks nice, but when im walking through a blizzard it just looks like white static, if i look closely i think its just a case of the snow moving way too fast, giving off the wrong effect, if anyone else has this problem could they comment because im dire at explaining things, someone might be able to help if they knew more
