An ideal mod to add a bit more NPC immersion to this game though not a perfect one. Coupled with Skyrim's vanilla dialogue interface, too many topics at one time can actually cause other topics to not show up properly, especially ones added by other mods. If this mod were to get updated some day, I would suggest putting all these topics under it's own menu within the dialogue interface, similar to Immersive Speechcraft.
This was essentially what I had in mind for dialogue, but since this was not a successful endeavor, I can't say much for it. The lack of voice actors just goes to show how dead skyrim really is. I mean we will still support it and it's still a great game with an okay community, but overall, there isn't really much in terms of the future. Only thing that's missing is a better dialogue edit, just so that it's not entirely time consuming, if you were to really go in depth with conversation, in this game.
Take into account that recording voices for each line of dialogue is tedious and you'd have to find someone who can mimic the vanilla voices, otherwise the new stuff won't sound right. All things considered, the fact that anyone has managed to add substantial new dialogue (well, new to Skyrim at least) that fits the lore is pretty impressive. Yeah, Skyrim's modding community has died over the years, but there are still about a dozen new mods a day, and this is after 4 years have passed since it was released. Many mods are still updated to this day, so I'd say the community is far from dead.
Ugh... yeah, woulda just been easier if paid modding was actually a sucess, and bethesda ended up lending us the original voice actors. And yeah, the community certainly isn't dead, I would never be under that impression. Especially, with these damn assholes who only play Fof4, talkin sht about skyrim. But, it's certainly not where it used to be, that's for certain.
No offense but it sounds like you shouldn't be upset over something someone says about a game. It's pretty inane in retrospect. This community is far from dead. Some mod authors are already adapting or going to adapt their work for the new Special Edition. Minus some things like SKSE, SKYUI items and others mods will return given enough time it will expand again. Some may even be compatible with a few changes.
Afterall, they are still making mods for Morrowind 20+ years after it's release. Including a completely reworked from the ground up new system for it to run on. Skywind, Skyblivion, I'm sure the scene isn't exactly dead simply because some misinformed people chatting on forums said something negative about it.
DynDoLOD already hit standalone Beta as well this year. Things are still progressing. I wouldn't be worried just yet.
;-)
Be glad paid modding nose dived. There would have been no way for mod author's to protect their work from scams and re-uploads. The community is better of without it.
It's not that they're talkin s#*! about the game and just that, they go to some youtube channels and have the nerve to say that skyrim is old why can't you play Fof4.
And actually... the community would be better with it. You're too assuming of mod authors. You've clearly never watched their streams. You should know that they are their own peoples and they have their own opinions. They can charge however little for their quest mods or however much for their bigger mods. This community is not anything without it's army of modders, and you should pay attention when they have something to say. They still have hope that paid mods will come back so that Bethesda can redeem themselves and do it right. I might not agree with that, but it's clearly for the better.
Good mod. All "less killing" and "more social" mods are welcome. The only thing I don't like is the use of "-- --" in sentences. But not a big problem though.
Honestly I really like this mod, though I found an issue,,,or a funny ""feature"" or bug, nothing major.
I can talk to dogs and ask them few topics. Dogs from the mod dogs of skyrim, and immersive patrols. Dunno about vanilla dogs as I haven't encountered any yet,,,, and I don't stay about talking or chasing them to chat, but the ones I encountered while traveling from the 2 mods above were some very talkative dogs lol...
Also a question, there are situations when an npc doesn't have anything to say, but when you click it it says a line or 2 of some important stuff or rumours etc. Now with this mod npcs without lines are given lines, hence you cannot click them for their one-liner to kick in, cuz the mod initiates the dialogue menu.........can this cause problems?
This is a relief as i have seen that dogs have talk notifiers above them when i meet them , yet they dont communicate accept the modded talking dogs and bears. So This is encouraging .
They would "love this idea"? We're talking about redoing Bethesda's work on every single NPC in Skyrim. Every line of dialogue would need to be recorded again. Otherwise one NPC would have a different voice depending on the dialogue you chose. That would be AWFUL!
On another note, if Bethesda's team had made it as complex as it was in previous games, the level of immersion would be far better than it is now!
The mod is excellent.. I can't put myself through silent dialogue though
