Could you add an option to make the two drain vitality shouts that are used by dragons subject to magic resistance?

I really like this mod and use it with an old copy of dragon combat overhaul. My character is magic resistance capped. I'm playing on legendary game difficulty and have this mod set on the insane preset. My dragon fights are getting boring, and I would like to adjust the magic damage to a higher level without making the drain vitality shout near impossible to survive if I fail to dodge.

According to UESP the shouts have editor ids of DLC1DragonDrainVitalityShout06 and DLC1DragonDrainVitalityShout07

Of course, if someone can tell me how to do this myself, it would be greatly appreciated, but I asked in the mod talk forum under quick questions thread weeks ago to no avail.

The sun dragon has an attack that makes an orb constantly spawn over my head that seems to hit especially hard. Not sure if it's ignoring magic resistance or just my imagination.

    Thank you for the mod.

Do you plan on adding a feature to make the dragons call forth dragon reinforcements or a group of Dragur to aid the dragon you you NPCs are fighting?

Like for Example when you or the NPCs lower the dragon's hp to 50% or 35% it calls reinforcements to aid it against the player and NPCs which will make things more fun.

DCO by Apollodown is what you're describing. Go get it, it runs alongside this mod.

Hi there, I have no complaints about the mod - it's essential to my gameplay. An effect that I'd enjoy with dragons in my skyrim skies are 'dragonsoul and shout absorbing dragons'. I don't have modding experience but would give my support and gratitude to whoever would make such an add on.

The effect is lore friendly as Argneir says "dragons have the inborn ability to absorb the soul and power of their slain brethren."

Presumably Elder Ancient, Revered and Legendary would tier in likelyhood of stealing dragon souls before the Dragonborn but it would be cool if the bonus of slaying such dragons were to gift the stolen souls and add words of power for the Dragonborn.. akin to the highlander in a sense.
Thank you for reading, Merry Christmas.

Had something interesting happen that MAY be worth looking into. At the moment the only thing I can do is reload before I entered Darkfall Passage, turn off Deadly Dragons and start over.

It was amusing at first, when the dragon spawned in, noclipping his way around alerting all the falmer... but being unable to land or hover anywhere, he just kept me in combat preventing progress at the wayshrine.

Could this area be set as a safezone? It totally ruins the mood of the place and keeps you in combat unless you manage to pelt him with enough arrows before he gets too far outside the cell for anything to hit him.

I can only assume, since it was raining.. deep underground.. the place is for some reason labeled as outdoors.

If it isn't already, I'd recommend the area around Raven Rock be designated a 'safe zone'. Fighting off dragons there is getting very annoying, especially since it puts the NPCs in danger.

Pleas fix the storm dragon, I love this mod and all of the dragons it adds plus the increased difficulty but the storm call shout that the storm dragon uses is very game breaking. It is impossible to hid from and even though im lvl 48 it still almost one shots me. This would be fine if there was any way to hide from it but there isnt, even if you get underneath cover it just goes strait though and hits you. I am fine with the meteor storms used by elder dragons which are just as powerful, but you can take cover and run from it. The fact that you can run or hide from the storm call shout is very frustrating.

See that some others here to have problems with the breath being to damaging. Well... i have a suggestion, but first, a little talk about the purpose of this mod:
The problem with original skyrim is that two giants will kill a dragon, and 4-5 soldiers will as well. Hence, no need for the dragonborn. Therefore, we get the brilliant deadly dragons mod, and are happy a little longer. However....

The breath and damage of new dragons is so severe that magic or bows is the only solution, and breath has to be avoided. OK, we stack u some resist potions and gear, increase you health a lot, and we suddenly feel like the dragonborn again. That is, able to slay dragons where no-one else is. Yet, it's due to gear, not to being the dragonborn.

Then we start to get bored by fighting normal enemies, because they are so weak compared to us when we are beefed up to defeat the dragons. We increase the enemy stats to change this, but suddenly the giants and soldiers stand a chance against the dragons again, and the eternal circle has reached it first round.

Here comes my suggestions, coupled with my thoughts of what being the dragonsborn should be like: The dragonborn is the hero who can save skyrim from the dragons. Hence, (s)he can beat dragons where others can't. This means he should have skills or powers that others lack. Skills are provided by the player hitting the right buttons at the right time.

Powers are shouts, but they are all offensive. A true dragonborn should have some form of resitance to the attacks of dragons, so that one can, like the hero o the trailer, absorb or resist a dragon's attacks. Hence, i suggest adding powers to the dragonborn, increasing in level either based on his level or progression of main quest (could be good, so that you have to learn more about being a dragonborn to get the powers), and possibly some from books. And all these powers should work ONLY ON DRAGONS, so that you truly have an edge on dragons as compared to other npc's.

    Breath defence:
    - some "resist dragon breath" auto abilities
. some "ward-like" spell that blocks 100 % of dragon breath up to a certain damage level. With highest level of ward, one should be able to resist all dragon breath powers if angled correctly. Point of having this a ward spell is to keep some player skill invovled, so as to not making fighting dragons boring

    Attack damage
    - some resist dragon melee damage (in adition to that which is in armory)
    - some passive power that works with the block commands. preferrably a well timed block, that can reduce damage significantly AND leave the dragon "open for a massive damage attack"

I have tried making a resist dragon breath power, but failed due to abysmal understanding of the modding process (how to label something as a dragon breath attack?!?)

Any other thoughts and ideas, on my suggestions.

I love every aspect of Deadly Dragons. However, because I am a chicken and because deadly monsters and dragons tend to indiscriminately slaughter most people in a town, I turn the Protected Quest Givers option on.

Could they be set to Important rather than Essential? That way the dragons will not be able to kill them, but the player can. A few NPC quests require you to kill them to satisfactorily complete a quest but if this option is on the player simply can't properly kill them and some vanilla quests faced with this situation will bug out. More to the point, if a player uses some massive area effect spell in the middle of Rorikstead during a dragon battle, it should be their own fault if the whole town dies.

Dragons breath too damn often. Unless you spend your whole game stacking every resist item possible or you are cheating or using mod gear, you can't fight a dragon at close range. If they are going to be able to breath that often then you need to be able to run around the breath, but they swivel faster than light armor characters run. Needs rebalancing.

..or maybe you should re-imagine how would one really battle a dragon? Would you really try 1-on-1 close quater combat WITH A DRAGON without being a godlike or having an IRON MAN SUITE MOD installed? Really? Have you seen Reign of Fire with Christian Bale? Remember the American soldier at the end who tried taking on a dragon with an AXE?

How you would really fight a dragon? Well thinking like that gives tons of problems (firearms, does his fire kill me like real fire does? Does my fire kill him like that?) but I'd probably charge it with my 2h axe since 1 blow on the head should crush the skull. Besides it's not you who is fighting a dragon, but the dovahkiin, that's got to count for something.

I love this mod. Installing Dragonborn or one of the patches reduced the frequency of vampire attacks to zero for me. I miss having the "atmosphere" of a vampire menace, and having it only work when you're around (and protect vital NPCs) as Deadly Dragons does would solve the issues the original design had. Is there any way of adding a werewolf/vampire companion complement to Deadly Dragons?
