i use a program called GIMP its open source and free!
you will need to download the DDS plugin (google it)
and instal it into C: Program FilesGIMP 2libgimp2.0plug-ins
now you can edit DDS files
so in data/MAINMENUWALLPAPERS/ you should copy and paste the Q folder (its bright and blue and easiest to see where to place your custom images on.)
now in the copied folders go to Q - copy/data/textures/interface/objects and open MAINMENUWALLPAPER.dds
paste your screen shot over my image, and make sure the corners line up and cover the orignal image
select all << very importaint!!!, then save / export (depending on what version of gimp u have) make sure its named MAINMENUWALLPAPER and its in the q - copy folder
you can rename the Q - copy folder to anything you like, the randomizer plugin has no limit
repeat for as many wallpapers as you want
you can even delete all my other folders if you just want your own images
Im having trouble, I got this mod to work before but now whatever I do nothing will happen. Ill copy and past the Meshes and Textures into the data folder and did it all right but nothing (Even on a new installed game). Is there something im missing, does it require something? thanks
that is indeed strange, mod will work without anything else installed, skse is required for randomization make sure you have up to date winrar, make sure you are installing the textures and meshes and skse folder into steamapps/common/skyrim/data
its just a replacer mod so it should work right off the bat.? maybe download it again.
90% of the time its a problem with the mod not being installed to the proper folders, make sure you dont have a data folder inside data. ect
and lauch via skse

To make it work you'll need to create empty folders. Otherwise, plugin will not work. (like it terminated. For example, I have not music folder, so wallpaper didn't load although mesh did. This cause pink background).
I believe it does work like this Tested and proved by myself
ah yes, this is why the music instructions on main page say to instal into the main data folder as well, to create the proper folder structure. and is also why the mod installs version A as default.
im also confused on this. im using a different replacer and for some reason im getting a lavender screen i dont know what i did wrong i dont think i did anything wrong to tell you the truth what should i do?
I love this mod so much, really well done and the pictures are all great. My question was, is there a way to add pictures to it without replacing the ones it comes with? The instructions above talk about replacing the current pictures, but I really like almost all of them.
I added more directories to the list ie all the rest of the alphabet and added my own pictures to the mod as well as keeping the ones that come with it, I regularly change it with my latest screenshots. I have to say this mod is one of the most wonderful i have come across, it is so nice to see my dovah appearing every time I load and remember that awesome dragon battle I had or that amazing view. Dont normally get to see screenshots once time has passed and this is a fine way to show them off. thank you so much for making this possible
Do not download this. I did, and it causes my game to crash at startup, every single time. Now, since it replaces the files in your directory, there is no real way to uninstall without reinstalling Skyrim. So, yeah, save yourself the struggle and do NOT install this mod.
I've been using this mod for 3 years now & it works perfectly every time. If it crashes at start up for you then most likely you did something wrong. Check your install again before spreading lies.
Hi! This is a really great mod you've made here! I want to ask for your permission to use some of your assets in a DIY mod that will allow users to use their own wallpapers (when they will want to have a large number of wallpaper options) as main menu in skyrim. Basically, my program will handle the hassle of sorting and moving each image.dds to its right location and renaming them to mainmenuwallpaper.dds. If someone has about 300 images, this mod will do 98% of the work for him/her. Of course, you will be given your proper acknowledgement and your mod will be linked in the description. I'm waiting for your reply.
@Ruzaak You download the file in the link that @AlisaLara provided and install it normally with your favorite mod manager. Let it overwrite the original mod skse plugin.

Seriously go check it out as it uses Meh's .NET framework, and the install process isn't really that hard, it just takes time and patience to set up as many custom randomised wallpapers as you need.
I have a very serious bug to report. This mod is liek a parasite, it just doesn't want to get out of my system. I installed it with Mod Organiser, but apparently, this mod and MO don't like each other. So, I uninstalled it and what happens? My title screen is purple. The texture is missing with MOD ORGANISER. How is that even possible?
I had the same issue but I fixed it. Try to delete any files that named "logo.nif" and "MAINMENUWALLPAPER.dds" inside MO folder. Hopefully this solve your problem and MO users too.

it cannot find the custom texture, MAINMENUWALLPAPER
if a gameobject cant find a texture, its purple so its clear that its broken
perhaps MO is overwriting somthing?
i dont use MO
