To All Skyrim SE users. I no longer maintain a converted copy of this file. I now use Serio's Cycle Hotkeys at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) for dual wielding. It's a little more complicated than this mod was to configure but not by much. I have deleted my converted version of this mod as it no longer worked with some of the updates that allowed me to utilize more modern mods.
I can't grasp, and this is super common on nexus mods, why a developer will put all this time and work into a mod, all the descriptions and dependencies and can't put out one word on how to use the damn thing. I see the dependencies, all the features, all the notes and comments. What i don't see is the following:
1. To use this mod once it's installed start Skyrim and do X to use the mod.
Is that really so hard? It's NOT intuitive especially if it's no working properly. Is it some hidden hotkey to bring up the interface? Is it part o the settings menu? If I'm looking at Vortex and it shows the mod and it says ENABLED then I expect that it would work.
So we have the following:
FEATURES INSTALLTION UNINSTALLATION DESCRIPTION CONFIGURATION STORING ITEM SETS... HOTKEY CONFLICT HANDLER LIMITATIONS COMPATIBILITY KNOWN ISSUES CREDITS CHANGELOG
Not a single word about usage. The only thing that might be related is the "configuration" section but configuration normally means changing the settings for an app/mod not basic usage. If I really need something called SkyUI MCM then why the hell isn't it in the list of Requirements??
I'm not trying to single out this dev and I would LOVE to use his mod but right now all I have is frustration.
There you have it, sixth topic from the top: "Storing item sets..." is exactly what you're looking for and will explain how to access the item set menu.
Just open your mods in the SkyUI console and ensure the mod is detected and enabled in the game it's self. Then equip what items you want from your inventory or spell list and press and hold the key you want to store that set on. A new menu will appear asking you if you want that combination to be stored. If you use the same hotkey for a second equipped set it will ask you if you want to overwrite the primary set or make this the secondary set. If you make it the secondary set you'll have to hit the hotkey twice to get the second set to be equipped. Example: you can store flame spell by equipping it in the spell menu and pressing the "1" key and holding it. Then you can do the same thing with the sparks spell and hold down the one key again and save it as a secondary. When in combat if you want to switch between the spells you simply press one each time you want to change. You can do this with sword and shield and then switch to bow all on the same key without having to open your favorites or your inventory menu in game.
I'm just going back to Legendary. This is one of those mods I just can't do without. In fact, several of my favorite mods are only available on Legendary and there's none on SE that I can't find here also.
I have the mod working on SSE. I'm trying to get permission to upload it or give the files to the original uploader but I'm not getting a response. I can put them up on dropbox and share them if you like. Just PM me with your email address.
(Update) With the latest version of netframework this mod is no longer working for me. I updated in order to take advantage of a few newer mods and now this mod is no longer working on my rig. Sorry :(
Hey Mitchalek. I sent you a pm. I was hoping I could either give you the converted files for SE with batch file to get the DHC mod working or you could give me permission to upload it to the Nexus for SkyrimSE. The mod works on SE as long as you keep the files loose and not compacted into a .bsa. Is it okay if we do this?
I've spent about six hours trying to get it to work and I've failed. I know it's possible because other people have said how, but I just can't figure it out.
Convert to SSE - for your own use. 1-Extract archive = 1 bsa, 1 esp , 1 readme 2-Extract bsa - use BAE extractor, = 3 folders , 1 esp , 1 readme 3-Open esp in CK64, make sure esp marked as "active". No need to edit anything just load it and save. 4-Replace original esp with "new" esp. 5-Repack folder and load with manager. 6-In game run - Setstage ski_configmanagerinstance 1 - to get MCM menu loading. (make this a bat file for future use) 7- Watch Dirty Weasel YT vids on SE conversions, lots of good stuff there.
Using MO2 with no probs, With some conversions that require SKSE I have to delete the fomod . ( no fomod in this mod)
Just a question regarding the bsa. Does the bsa then need to then be repackaged from the extracted files into a new bsa? Or do we delete the bsa that was there initially and leave the extracted files? Or, do we delete the extracted files when we're done resaving and just leave the original bsa?
Edit: Use the loose files. The bsa seemed to prevent the game from starting for me.
After I do all that I run the Setstage ski_configmanagerinstance 1 and it just tells me 9 menus are loaded or something like that. I open MCM and DHC Hotkeys isn't showing. I then try to hot key sets but nothing happens. Is there something else I might be missing? (After installing the new mod with NMM I went ahead and simply copied all the files over manually to the data directory but still nothing).
(edit) I've now done this on a clean install of the game. I receive a message "Update successful" but when I open up my MCM I still don't see DHC Hotkeys. Any suggestions?
Just ran into the same problem your having with a mod called Tag and Track for SE. The esp loaded but no MCM . The author recommended to quicksave F5 and quickload F9 and presto there was the MCM menu. So if you've done all the steps above try the quicksave route .
Thank you for the detailed instructions. So far it works perfectly, although I've not done a lot of testing. This is my Nr. 1 QoL mod, and I've played with it for far too long.
Omg thank you! I can't believe this mod was finished in 2013 and I've only just found it but I play as a left handed character so this is absolutely essential! LOVE IT

PS - the new Nexus interface is a bit slow to note replies etc.
