No, Cetic, that wasn't the problem in my game. Simply the summoning didn't work at all, nowhere. After making this mod I discovered it was another mod interfering (I don't remember which one). My mod fixed that bug in that mod

though it's hard to find the mod list, it is always in nexus mod manager or MO, so note that down before you proceed to install
also spawn the dragon a few times before using him in combat, because he is devoted to teach you thumbs and talk talk talk
