(4) Use Cathedral Assets Optimizer (CAO) on both meshes and textures
This will convert textures and meshes to SSE format
(4a) If you do not repack the optimized meshes and textures - they will be installed as loose files (5) Install mod (preferably via mod manager)
MO2 makes this process easy
(6) Activate mod (7) Open Creation Kit (CK) and save the plugin
This will convert the plugin from form 43 to 44
(8) Use Nifskope to correct the texture paths for the weapons meshes (search comments for details)
GamerPoets has some great tutorials on setting up Nifskope
Floating items bothering you: (1) You will need to use Chunkmerge (video for what it is here) to create the proper collision for the mesh (shields and weapons). (2) Create inventory/ground meshes for the armor by using OutfitStudio and using this video? for guidance. (3) The bow meshes must have their transforms reset (easy to do in OutfitStudio).
Unresolved issues: Temporary Fix The Knight Sword appears to be an in progress element and does not load properly in game. A temporary resolution is to overwrite this mesh with the sword mesh provided by the mod.
great manual :-) it works great in my sse installation, although i did repack them in a bsa ;-) btw, i did use sse nif optimizer for the nif files, and checked the dds files whether they needed compression. the latter could be done by cathedral as well;-) enjoy
jgreybear appears active (at least on Nexus), might be worth asking. However, I know SirRumple put a request in a while ago, so the mod author may not want it on SE. Who knows?
Thank you LordMithro much! Took me a second, but I know your work... thank you again. Have you thought about the port? I mod for other games, but love it in skyrim but for some reason never learned the code.
I made the conversion for personal use. I sent a message to the Author to have his permission to upload it but he appears to have been inactive for a while.

(1) Download the mod
(2) Extract the zip file
- You can use 7zip or a similar program
(3) Use a BSA extractor
- This will allow you to extract the mesh and texture files
- BAE is one such program.

Unresolved issues: Temporary Fix
