ALSO: I am looking for someone with lots of programming experience to take this further/fix bugs while MM gets his life back together. If you know anyone (or have experience yourself), email me at [email protected]! Note, however, that I do mean *lots* of experience; BSR is very complicated - so much so that MM, a professional coder and bug fixer, still had bugs.
TO EVERYONE SAYING DRAIN SICKNESS IS GETTING INCREDIBLY IRRITATING: I agree! And it'll be worked on post haste...once MMs (the technical half of this team) house un-burns down and he returns. In the meantime, please accept my apologies and general uselessness; I am but the creative director :L In the meantime, please reply to this post and following this format regarding the details of the drain sickness issue:
-WHO: (guard, named NPC, dynamically appearing NPC in wilderness, enemy) -STATE: (are they sleeping? standing? in combat and looking for you?) -YOUR DLCS: (Got Dragonborn? Hearthfire? Dawnguard?) -ACTIONS TAKEN AGAINST NPC: (Obviously, you're trying to feed on them, but had you just managed to feed on them a moment ago? are they under the affects of one of your spells? -TIME SINCE LOAD: (how long had you been playing the game since you last logged on? 1 hour? 20 minutes? etc)
Hopefully, with those parameters, I'll be able to model some kind of trend and when MM comes back he can fix it post haste. Mi dispiace, and thank you for your patience!
EDIT: Also, for those who get the random spell activation via the doubletap module in the latest build...well, there's no easy fix beyond going back to an earlier build, I'm afraid
do you know for sure, he is still alive? do you have any contact with himto even see if he is coming back? from what im seeing it looks like he left for good unannounced.
WHO: Dark Brotherhood contract: Eddius Something-or-another (Guy near Anga's Mill) STATE: sleeping DLCS: Have Hearthfire and Dawnguard ACTIONS TAKEN: Sleep feeding. No spell effects. TIME SINCE LOAD: Less than an hour.
WHO: Maven Black-Briar STATE: Walking around DLCS: As above ACTION: Sneak feed, no spells. TIME: 1.5 hours, give or take.
WHO: Entire Mage's Guild + Nelacar (Elf in the inn) STATE: Asleep, awake, etc. ACTION: Sneak and sleep feeds, no spells. TIME: 20 minutes.
It's everyone in the Dragonborn DLC... I have to disable the AOS completely to travel back and forth between Skyrim and Solstheim. :/ There isn't anything I can do to feed on them. I've played using Belua Sanguinare for quite a while now, and became a vampire within a day or two (in-game) of creating a new character. Kilani set off for Solstheim first chance she could (as a vampire Master) and was horrified to realize that anytime she was in this new land, she had to starve constantly, as no one on the island could provide her with satiation. It's really hard to enjoy the game when everyone attacks you 24/7 and the only way you can stop it (short of acting in bursts, limited by one's reserve of magicka, which sucks for conversations) is to completely disable the AOS mechanism of the mod, which feels close to cheating. :/
Alright mate, thank you very much for the update, and I wish the best of luck to MM. Not sure if it was clear in my previous post, but I intend to stay loyal to this mod, since I find it to be awesome, wish I could endorse again.
As regards to the DS, what I get is this: Who - Essential NPC's - it does not seem to matter which. State - Irrelevant - all states will give the DS 'fault'. DLC's - Got DB and DG but not HF. Actions - Irrelevant - doesn't matter if I've attacked, spoken, ignored, remained unseen or any other possible action taken against the npc, it won't let me feed. Time since load - Irrelevant, afaik - I've tried numerous times on many many many different npc's throughout gameplay, if they're flagged as essential, they won't give me food!
More info: I've got some other mods as well, one of them being Vampire Slaves Den (Adult, FYI), now, it is filled with, well, slaves ofc, and they are all essential - meaning I can't kill them - and they all give the drain sickness 'fault'.
also how about sneak feading it always hostile NPC when i use sneak feeding can you just make vamp seduction unlimited and also the blood starvation is too fast can you make it a little bit slow just make it half day or every 6 hours then your character will starve
and also is this compatible with skyrim 1.9.32 patch
@aljustineg: It would probably be wisest to make those changes optional, as in, adding them to the menu provided by the spirit thing, that you can summon.
In regards to your sneak feed causing you to aggro the guards / npc's etc, I've found that the higher level your 'Sneak' skill is, the easier it gets to feed without getting caught. So maybe investing some points in 'Sneak' assuming you haven't leveled it that far yet.
Regarding starvation, I've found several mods that lets you tweak how fast the in-game time progresses, compared to real life time scale. As I recall the relation is 1 - 24, meaning that for every second in real life, 24 seconds have passed in game. With a mod like Dynamic Time Scale, you can adjust that relation, I've put it at 1 - 6, which seriously slows down the whole digestion process.
Patch: This mod should be fully functional with 1.9.32.x. Mine's fully patched, with both Dragonborn and Dawnguard DLC's, and it's running fine. Some minor animation hiccups here and there, but nothing major.
I posted below this, but since this post is specifically for drain sickness, I'll go ahead and repeat it (and apologize for the repetition):
Drain Sickness is applied to every single Invulnerable, Protected, or Essential actor whenever the player tries to feed on them. The proof is in the source code (the mm_BeluaVampireFeedScript.psc file):
; This will cast a spell on a target which lasts 1 day. During that time, the target cannot be fed upon again. if akTarget.GetActorBase().IsInvulnerable() || akTarget.GetActorBase().IsProtected() || akTarget.GetActorBase().IsEssential() mm_BeluaDrainSicknessSpell.Cast(akTarget,akTarget) EndIf
I don't know if the spell is cast on the actor at any other time (I haven't dug through all these scripts) but if this is the extent of it, changing the condition in the script and recompiling it will fix drain sickness. Now, it could be that the author intended for this to be applied *after* feeding (which is a phenomenal idea... for Invulnerable and Essential actors only) and if that's the case it probably needs to be applied down around line 270ish in the code (after the victim takes damage and the player is healed and satiation is incremented).
I concur with LardXray's assessment. It seems to be any NPC that is essential (quest givers and the like) to the game, including followers such as Lydia.
I have all 3 DLCs and none of the other details (state, actions, time) matter.
I had a look at the feeding script, and it seems like it casts the drain sickness spell first, then later checks to see if the target has the drain sickness spell effect. Also, judging by MM's comments within the script, the intention was to allow the player to feed on invulnerable/essential NPCs a maximum of once every 24 hours, not to prevent feeding on essential NPCs entirely (which I used to think was the whole point of the drain sickness thing - in hindsight, the intended system seems _much_ better). If it's alright with you, i could change the script a little and recompile it, which hopefully might fix the problem.
Does BSR modify non-vampire unarmed (fist) combat? Every time my non-vampire (werewolf) tries to brawl with someone, after about six or so hits they pull out a knife and, if I beat them down without killing them, they refuse to give up!
WHO:Nearly EVERY NPC related to a Quest STATE:differentiates DLCS:Dragonborn/Dawnguard ACTIONS TAKEN: Feeding never works on them TIME SINCE LOAD: bout 2 to 3 Months of not playing Skyrim untill 3 days ago
Great mod ! but like everyone im too struggling with " drain sickness" bug BUT you can temporary fix it by editing (using creation kit) file "MM_BeluaSangunaireRevisited". In spells find "mm_BeluaDrainSicknessSpell" and remove it's effect. DON'T remove whole spell because it is used in scripts and will create errors. However when spell's effect is missing Drain sickness does nothing. So far tested it with already created saved game and everyting seems to be fine. I can feed on anyone (essentials too but it is temporary and working) . As always make backup saves and mod file. Good Luck !
I got the sickness with an NPC (thaena in winter hold). Set her to nonessential using the console, and no sickness. So this seems to uphold the theory of protected status as the root of the problem.
Any luck with that yet? I figured someone could simply remove the essential/non-essential equation from the feeding script and just let players use their own discretion to prevent breaking quests etc. I'd do it myself if I were better at the creation kit.
Regarding the issue with "feeding sickness", if anyone is still taking a stab at this. I've noticed that this happens 100% of the time on:
* Any NPC flagged as essential * Merchants * Quest related or quest givers (even if not flagged as essential) * Any NPC added via any mod such as Vilja or other companions, or wandering NPCs added via mod * DLC NPCs (any DLC)
Feeding seems to only work on vanilla NPCs that are pure fluff, or that are vanilla guards.
I think most of the time, it's essential NPCs, I tried feeding on someone and it gave the the drain sickness, but i talked to them and changed them to non essential with another mod and they no longer gave me the issue, what irritates me is that i can't do that with some NPCs from mods that i've downloaded, like the cattle in my vampire den, talking to them doesn't bring anything up
mofo mojo contacted me on gmail, saying he cant access his account anymore, and decided he hates moding anyway, he said anyone can update, change or reupload a new version or fixed version of this mod and his other mods no credit needed. hes not going to return.
MofoMojo has decided to vanish without a trace, why dose he hate the community so bad that he wont even contact anyone with a goodbye? hes definatly not ever going to be back so i think its safe for anyone to take this mod over. its original author never really cared much about it apparently anyway.
Sorry, MidnightJester84, but what you're saying is a total BS. From as far as I know, MofoMojo didn't leave because he hated anyone. He did it because of personal reasons, specifically, his flat burning down...
MidnightJester84--You don't know what the heck you are talking about.
Shut your pie hole. MM did an amazing job. He was here every day for many months answering questions, making changes, listening to suggestion and working hard to make this an awesome mod.
He did a fantastic job. Then along come douchebags like you who didn't contribute a thing, downloaded the mod for free, and who have nothing to offer but complaints and insults.
What are you 2 years old? Make your own mod you POS.
I'm sad that MM isn't around. I really liked him and thought he was a hard working and talented person. It pained me when spoiled brats would always show up bitching because something they got for FREE didn't work perfectly or didn't have a feature they thought they wanted and demanded a fix post haste.
"This mod sucks because I can't feed on and kill essential NPC's!!! FU MM for wasting my time downloading this crappy mod (that you spent hundreds of hours making and adjusting and altering to meet the needs and suggestions of others who never gave you a dime for your time)!
lots and lots of bug with this amazing mod unfortunately I've had issues with the slow time effect happening every few seconds once I enter castle volkihar another bug I've came across is the Beluar sanguinaria configuration spell disappears in you later stages of vampirism which is really frustrating because after feeding it makes my victim into a thrall and before you know it you have like 5 thralls following you around another bug I've encountered was the NPCS seem to not comment on my vampire apearence but rather say "Thats A dangerous spell" and the vampire lord is completely broken the bats power doesn't seem to work and I've had some issues reverting back in human form anyways if there's a different version I can use that's less buggy let me know.
Hello Belua Sibling, I'm a rando who also is wandering around here in the year of our lord 2023. Fancy that!
My only ideas are regarding 1) the NPCs not commenting on your vampire appearance and 2) dealing with the many thralls.
1) I'm wondering if perhaps you installed this optional .esp file, outlined in purple. I've outlined the basic necessary .esp's in red. I think if you have the purple one installed, it may be causing that problem, since it is meant to change the dialogue tree back to race-specific responses, so check your .esp's maybe!
2) During my digging, I saw someone else mention having too many thralls in a presumably non-Belua file. There is a console command workaround in that thread which I will also paste here in case the link ever goes dead:
I have personally never encountered this issue and cannot vouch for the effectiveness or cons to using this method. However, per the UESP regarding the dispelallspells command:
Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything else regarding the other issues you outlined. However, in case there are other lurkers seeking bug fixes for this old lovely yet somewhat buggy mod, here is an add-on mod that a fellow community member made in order to handle a different bug, the "drain sickness" issue.
Best of luck! I did see that the original creator ran into some drastic irl problems and is no longer upkeeping this sadly (still, shout-out to them, this looks like it was a lot of work!). But this means you may only find fixes by doing weirdly-fixated digging and encountering other "I'm still playing the orig Skyrim in 2023 because I don't want to update to whatever the hell Todd is doing over in SE/LE lately" wanderers like myself ;D Take care!
Do I just do a anormal manual Installation I couldn't find the description for the installation process? Thank you for the help this gave me hope that this mod works for SE
Hello Have just started or semi started a new play thru, and have tried this once before, but not really given it a chance amidst all the issue ppl are having... So would like to ask the community who use this mod 1 - Have they ever used the skill /spell Sumo mortalis morte , ? 1a - and did they see it slowly drain the magicka ? I've noticed you have a glow around your body when using this, But I didn't see a slow drain happening ? Now in answering my question about that, I also an alt start mod , called realm of lorkharn which you can get buffs / skills n such , now some of these possibly affect this ... So I reloaded a save to where I hadn't added any buffs of any sort the made a save , use the moratalis spell again, and same thing just happens, there is no slow drain showing and seem to last for ever, and the only vamp skill I can use is drain as the mortalis spell shows no signs even after 10 rl minutes ?? Does anyone else have a similar kind of issue, ?? The mortalis spell would be good , I think in fooling isran since its like forever the conceal side of it , o.O ... I am trying 3 other vamp mods which seem to work fine with it and that's better fangs n eyes, bottle that blood , as it allows you to bottle animal blood, and better vampire npc's ... I was able to talk to the assisstant and change things, just issue was with conceal spell mortalis

just 1 question, when will there be vampire clans?

Shortly, is BSR feeding is in newest file??
I ask because in a video of this mod (on this modpage) there are 2 options of feeding:
- normal - just feed - feeded npc dont die
- BSR - npc die - all blood drained
I tryed both files: 1dot3dot4 and 1dot4 beta
Is there avaible to get file type with BSR feed?
It become stupid when i need to feed 3 - 4 times on bandit in combat for him to die. AND i cant drain him once to death
THX for help
Fellow vampire, friend of the night
In newest version its only normal "Feed"
This is how it should be or its a bug?
Edit: read further into DVA's compatibility p much immediately, got my answer.
