Note: If you're using FlintStryker's JK's Skyrim / ETaC Patches, v13.9.6 (the last version he managed to get to) is posted on the Description page under "Mirrors." This version of ETaC is NO LONGER SUPPORTED, and FlintStryker is no longer working on the patches, so you're using at your own risk... Please DO NOT post bug reports for version 13.9, most of said bugs will have been fixed in v14 anyway and by choosing to use an outdated version of the mod you're sort taking your life into your own hands... but, you know, if you want to live dangerously, there you have it lol.

(New Version ONLY) The exterior walls added to ETaC's minor holds are optional, and can be enabled / disabled via MCM - Or for those not using the MCM version, by opening your console in-game (usually with the tilde key) and typing: SetStage MJB_00GlobalConfig 1
The new version of ETaC is compatible with Blowing in the Wind -without- the need for patching. There will be a small conflict regarding one lonely Darkwater Crossing lantern, but that can be fixed by loading ETaC AFTER the Blowing in the Wind.esp. If you're not using an ETaC version with Darkwater Crossing, the load order doesn't matter at all, so do whatever grabs you. And-and-also-so...
NOTE: Do -not- use the ETaC patches included in Blowing in the Wind's installer with the new version of ETaC. They're no longer needed. If you have this file in your data folder... "Blowing in the Wind - ETaC Complete Patch.esp" remove it.
ETaC is fully compatible with both Interesting NPCs and Immersive Citizens. (And, as of v0.4 - Immersive Citizens compatibility has been completely built-in. You no longer need the MCM "patch" option which is why it's no longer there. Hopefully this will avoid any future confusion over how all that is working.)
Please be mindful of your load order though, as ETaC's files must be going -AFTER- Interesting NPCs and Immersive Citizens in order for this all to work properly.
Seriously. I cannot stress enough how - This is REALLY IMPORTANT lol. (If your load order is incorrect your navmesh will be COMPLETELY broken preventing your NPCs from navigating the world, quests might not function as expected, your markers will be stuck in inaccessible locations which will cause AI packages to fail... I mean, it might actually kill you. You could just drop dead *SPLAT*
So again, ETaC AFTER Interesting NPCs and Immersive Citizens. Please and thankyouverymuch.
AND AND ALSO AND - Because this seems to be a common point of confusion (sorry about that, guys) ...
This is actually *not* a bug, and is instead just a "you need to be using a patch" issue, but fret not, you can fix it! OPEN YOUR MCM MENU LIKE SO... and just make sure the SMIM Patch is ticked active. And that's it, your signs will be fine now lol. Hooray!
A NOTE ON PATCHES AND THE v0.7 UPDATE The v0.7+ update makes extensive changes to ETaC's quests, dialogue, scripts, NPCs, towns, basically everything everywhere, but especially in Dawnstar, Riverwood and Rorikstead. (It also adds Karthwasten, hooray!) As a result of which, many of ETaC's form IDs have changed. Accordingly (and unfortunately), this means that...
Any patches you might have that do not originate from here (in ETaC's patches file) will probably need an update. Now if you're incredibly lucky, they'll only need their masters changed (instructions on how to do that below) but it's also possible they'll have been impacted by the formID changes, in which case you'll have to wait for their respective authors to get them updated for you.
SO! If you are experiencing any crashing or infinite load screens, please check to make sure that you don't have any out of date patches.

UPDATING MASTERS FOR THE v0.7 UPDATE So should you need to update any other patches or files you might have from the .esm master to the .esp master for the v0.7 update, here's a quick little tutorial. It's super painless, I promise.
I believe it's because of a difference of opinion concerning creator rights between the Author and Nexus in regards to collections, (but I've been wrong in the past and no doubt I will be again)
I found a strange problem in Karthwasten the door to Karthwasten Hall is missing so I could not enter the hall and the door to Emmon's house is hang in mid air away from the residence. This is the only mod I have making any changes to Karthwesten so not sure what is going on.
I have an old file for this mod and for some reason can't find it in my mod organizer, (I am using mod organizer 2) and I am having conflicts with the exterior walls at Dawnstar and the boats at the dock with JKs skyrim. I can't seem to find the file or its locations. Does anyone know a solution?
my dude i followed your method to solve the issue for missing master "ETaC - RESOURCES.esm" but it didnt work, wrye bash did not identify the red check box as if its not there, like when i right click on the missing master with red on the right box i cant click o nthe options
Real Shelter keeps telling me that I'm missing "ETaC-RESOURCES.esm" and I simply cannot find that file anywhere. Found a youtube video where some guy explained how to fix it by just manually downloading the complete version but when I did that, in the ESM file it was just another resources.esp. Idk if thats normal or not because there is very little online regarding this issue.
This would almost certainly because the patch for Real Shelter is out of date. The file it is looking for is now called ETaC-RESOURCES.esp (note the change in suffix). The contents of this file have changed too, so you will need to get in touch with the Real Shelter's author and ask them to make an updated patch.
So far I have found the ETaC - AI Overhaul patch may not be converted for LE (needs a different version of update.esm apparently... so DynDOLOD says). I at least got it to be recognized by my game via, both, going into TES5Edit and removing masters, as well as making it an active file in the CK and saving it. Both methods allow the game to start, though I have no idea if they are actually functional.

UPDATING MASTERS FOR THE v0.7 UPDATE
So should you need to update any other patches or files you might have from the .esm master to the .esp master for the v0.7 update, here's a quick little tutorial. It's super painless, I promise.
- Have Wrye Bash:
- Open it; Check your list for any ETaC files that have a red check-box next to their names:
- Click to highlight said file and go to it's "Masters" list;
- Look for another red check-box (specifically, "ETaC - RESOURCES.esm);
- Right-click and select "Change to..."
- In the dialog box that comes up, select the new "ETaC - RESOURCES.esp" from the list and click "Open"
- File should now be green; Hit "Save" and that's it! You're done! Hooray!
