Been busy, and haven't looked at your mods in a while. Did so last night, and you've come a long way since the last time I checked in. Realized you're one to keep an eye on!
Absolutely love this new look for the common chair. I really hated those! I went from disabling them in the places they are not essential, to now using Jaxonz Positioner to copying this one to add it elsewhere!
But can't tell you how bizarre it is to clear out a cave, and find a bandit sitting on a more fancy chair at a common table! .P. Even felt like pushing Camilla Valerius off hers, because it looked odd seeing her seated in front of a common table! P.
Much of my game is modded, but there are still vanilla parts. I use Kreimen's Experiental Riverwood and it doesn't touch the vanilla look of the General Trader. But going by the outside of the village, it doesn't need to!
I've downloaded a few other of your mods .... like the common bench. If this is anything to go by, I don't think I will be disappointed.
For some reason these chairs do not show up in my game I downloaded and installed the 1k ver. I've tested with another chair replacer and that seems to work. Unless Im looking in the wrong places. I assume this changes the chairs in places like the bars which is where Ive been looking
Yea, installed in manually, I'm an ex modder and very familiar with file structure. So no mistake placing files. I installed and uninstalled 2 replacers with no esp to test my game a circlet replacer and a noble chair replacer both worked fine. Don't understand why this particular one doesnt work for me. Anyhow very nice model and texture.
*** Okay figured it out the chairs in the whiterun bar is not "commonchair01" which is where is was looking to see this replacer. That would explain it. Just renamed to replace the noble chair which is what I have in my player home and it replaced it no problem. Now if someone could tell me what folders and names the chairs are in the bars that would be great.
What chair is this replacing exactly? It looks too artsy to be some cheap chair you can find anywhere. Is this just replacing some chair that's supposed to be fancy, like ones you would find in a Jarl's castle?
Hi Xtudo! These look really nice, but maybe an image of the vanilla version and the modded version side by side would be helpful? Sometimes those of us that are more involved with modding, either for creating mods or just for our own use, forget that a lot of users don't always know what all the internal names are for things. I mean, everyone might hopefully understand that common is less fancy than upper, which is less fancy than Noble. But then again, maybe they don't. As always with replacers, a comparison to vanilla can be helpful. Haha, I have to admit that with all the things I have done to my game, and knowing internal names, even I am not sure what chair this is replacing either. So now, before I bother downloading, I will add this to my list of things to go see what "my" current common chair looks like... which probably isn't vanilla anyway!
This chair is a work of art, that's for sure. It is far too beautiful to ignore. A small hint for those who believe the model ist too beautiful for a common environment: Just rename the model from commonchair01.nif to noblechair01.nif or noblechair02.nif and copy the file to Data\meshes\furniture\noble to replace one of the noblechair with this model.
That is a very interesting idea, although consideration for the size of the chair should be checked, to avoid potential navmesh issues. I would assume the chair is the same size or smaller than the noble chairs so it would probably be safe, but it never hurts to check. And to be honest, maybe most users would not be affected by that as much as me. I have over 400 added girls living in homes all over Skyrim, many taking their meals together with the AI packages I have added to them. So I really need to worry about things like that.
Edit: Also, although maybe unlikely, if any mod (or Skyrim itself) uses texture overrides on Noble chairs in some areas, replacing the Noble chair mesh with this one could mess things up. I am not sure if failed overrides would break things or just be ignored.
Honestly, the size of the chair shouldn't matter in regards to animations. Other than Jarl thrones, there's only one set of sitting animations used for all chairs. This means which chair this model replaces shouldn't make a difference as long as its not a Jarl throne.
It's not so hard to believe that a common chair could look like this in a place like Skyrim - carpenters would be masters of their craft. It's not like they have Reddit or the NFL to eat up their time, is it?
That honestly makes me wonder now: what did actual medieval chairs look like? To me honestly this looks like a modern dinner chair. Is that what chairs actually looked like back then? I know the game Kingdom Come Deliverance has some npc in it wearing what looks like a modern chef's outfit despite taking place in the middle ages, so clearly SOME things don't change with time.
Checked it out in the game. The regular chairs have been replaced. I'm very, very pleased. Maybe now it's the turn of other furniture, like tables, cabinets, armchairs?
Thank you, I know this mod. :) But this mod is too big for me. I would like to take a look at beds from this author. Let's hope that someday this will happen. :)
I'm actually using the double bed from Skyrim 3D Furniture (and some other things from it as well), but you'll have to port it first. For single beds, here it's a nice model.

By the way very nice model and texture
And if it's not of your taste/liking, just move along.
