About this mod

A simple plugin that restores the mourning interaction that is present in the Vanilla game files but was left unused.
Unique NPCs can now express anger/grief after a relative or friend dies, run away to be left alone for a moment, or greet you differently as they mourn. (LE Backport)

Thank you for leaving open permission for use and backport!

This mod functionality is already included in Cutting Room Floor by Arthmoor.
This backport is mostly for everyone who don't want to use that mod for compatibility or personal reasons but want to retain these functionalities as standalone features.

[excerpt from the original mod description]

The mod:

This is a plugin that re-enables the mourning interaction that is present in the Vanilla game files but was left disabled by Bethesda.
Unique NPCs can now express anger/grief after a relative or friend dies, run away to be left alone for a moment, or greet you differently as they mourn.

This feature is currently present in both Cutting Room Floor by Arthmoor and Haunting and Mourning by vagonumero12 (ported to SE by KainThePheonix), but as you can probably guess these two mods do other stuff as well. I would recommend checking both of them out if you haven't.

I figured I'd make a plugin that restored that piece of cut content and only that, as I wasn't that interested in restoring the Haunting interaction, so here it is.

Compatibility:

Should be compatible with pretty much everything but you never know.

AI Overhaul apparently implements a mourning interaction too, albeit differently. This isn't incompatible with it, but it's not impossible that there could be some redundant interactions if you use both. CRF also does the same thing as this and mnikjom has a patch for AIO and CRF, however that patch doesn't touch anything related to mourning. So if CRF doesn't conflict with AIO on the mourning interaction, then neither should this. I will personally use this alongside AIO, so if I ever encounter anything weird I'll be sure to mention it here.

If you're wondering, the NPCs in those screenshots are not using the hair colors from my mod Natural Hair Colors as I was testing some things with facegen.
If you do want to improve those hair colors I would recommend you check it out, or Mild Hair Colors which it was inspired from.
