Thanks for the mod but this problem is already addressed in AltheaR's "Unmasked Faces":
    https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/76607

Which additionally fixes the green tint on the "headdetail" maps. An old version of this is also included in USMP, which is the reason I noticed the conflict after adding zzjay's mod.

Not everybody uses those mods, and i kept getting seams complaints on races, caused by this map, so i went ahead and fixed it for users, so that when a person complains about seams, using my texture mods i can point them out to the missing map, they did not have installed previously.

like the descrription says, other mods do thi, ut so far none of them addressed what the fix does, so it's gonna be hard for people to find them, especially on the SE side.

No criticism intended, I didn't even know this was an issue before, I was simply curious why your mod overwrote USMP and did some research on my side. On another note: I don't have SE/AE installed to check but from my understanding, this issue is caused by the DXT1/DXT5 compression in LE. Is this fix then even required for SE since it uses the superior BC7 compression?

yes, because bethesda did not bother fixing it.
Most of SE textures still use DXT compression, at least in the vanilla side.

In fact , i have already one , i use Fair skin and a blank detail map is included in the mod files . My problem is essentially with npc's replacers using my meshes and textures . I use replacers by several modders , and i have always a less or more noticeable coloration difference between their heads and bodies . Slight , but annoying .

If the seam is on the NPC but not on player characters, the issue is whoever made the NPC didnt make it seamless, or is using not seamless textures.

Another option could be that the fair kin map, does not fix the issue in the detailmap. i have never used fairskin to know if its fixes it or now.
You could try this and see if it changes anythign.

      maybe this can help?
skyrim has 5 files that can cause neckseam texture wise
      Spoiler:
      Show

Skyrim heads use 5 textures, the common 4 you can also find in the body, and are usually those included in the skin texture mods.

This mod has nothign to do with those 4 textures, but edits the fiffth one, the detailmap.

What are detail maps? they are those textures used in the COMPLEXION slider, (yes, the freckles, old age etc...)
If you select the default one, it'll use the blankdetailmap, that is essentially supposed to do "NOTHING".

The problem is thta the vanilla one, is too bright, causing a slight seam and color difference between head and body (small, but still noticiable).
      This mod fixes that problem.

I have heard that some mods include detailmap, but are still broken, so since this mod has basically no impact on looks, but only on seams, i'd recommend giving pririty to this one (load after). Worst case scenario nothign happens, and your seams are caused by other texture maps.

And then there's body mesh\headmesh that can also cause a seam, so it's a total of 7 options.
If you want to list me the mods you use for these, maybei can see if there's an old one, that has issues?

That's very complicated , my characters are a real patchwork . They are based on custom races ( Ashen and Lunari ) but almost all is changed in them , meshes , textures and head . I just wanted to be able to change them . The head comes from a follower . There was no preset , i just put the facegen file in chargen and used it in racemenu as a sculpt file , and that worked very well . i have modified the face with Racemenu sliders .The body meshes come from another follower , a slight variant of Sevenbase bombshell . I have even changed the msn textures files with ones coming from another follower ( from Demoniac , i think ) . I know that may be the cause of a seam ( i use the same body and textures for all females in my game ) , but , before , i have used the UNPB body with complete Fairskin textures and i had the same problem with the npc's replacers . I add some screenshots of my characters ( effectively , we can see a very slight seam if we look very closer ) . But i like them as they are ...

All texture maps should come from te same mod. mixand matching skintextures without proper photohsop is almst guaranteeing a seam.

      And it's 100% the specularmap:

      Femalehead_s.dds and femalebody_s.dds
Seems like you picked the shiny body, but the not shiny face.
You need to get them from a matching set, i have a mod with various speculars, it's divided into shiny, not shiny and wet. You pick both folders with same name and install those.
      https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25588?tab=files

Same thing applies to fair skin, and last i cheked if you pick matching options it has no seams.

I know , on this image , i had tried  shiny textures  picked on another follower , but that was just a test . I did'nt keep it , and i don't use it , because i don't like it . it is not on the other screenshots , i hhave added this one by mistake . On the other images , i use all the female_s;dds textures from Fair skin mod .

it's very barely noticiable int he other pics, what i can tell you is to try nd use the textures I made:
      Women of Skyrim

if this solves the problem then you know it's fair skin. I have personally never used it, but it always seemed fine.

other things you may do is making sure headmesh.nif has Vertex normals disabled. but as far as i know only citrus headmesh suffers from this problem, so unless you have that mod, you should be fine on that side.

I am sure that your textures are awesome , but i like Fair skin very much . But maybe i have found the problem with the npc's replacers . I have said before that i had replaced my Fair skin normal maps with others found on a follower . in fact , i wanted a light muscle body ( i tried " Sporty sexy map " but my character had an ugly face with it ) . the normals of the follower worked well with my characters , and even made their faces better . So i decided to install them for all females in game too . But textures mods contain different " female_head,msn " for each race , and obviously the follower mod contained only the normals for " female " , so they haven't been changed by race ... One hour ago , i have replaced these normal maps with Fair skin ones , for npcs and that seems to be much better for almost all of them . I hope that my explanation is clear , sorry , i am not very good with these technical things ( too old for that ) .

Yep that sporty map is not seamless, while fair skin should be. if you have a texture editor is easy to copy and paste the neck area of bodth head and bod int he mod you want.

This mod will not magically solve all your seams issues. A proper set of seamless head and body textures is still required.
    Such as?

females use the male one. the texture is a blank map, and you can read an explanation i wrote for another user here:

      Spoiler:

that said these textures are loaded into the texture sets in the CK in the file called Skyrim.esm
The way bethesda loaded them is this way. I don't know why, but they needlessly split aargonian and khajiit ones as separate files, when they could have all loaded the human male one. it's a small texture, so NBD, but that's a decision they took whle building the game, maybe they had plans for it, who knows.

Simple fix You say. A menace I say.

This has always been an annoyance for me when everybody said that their textures were seamless.
