I'm going to be sceptic. The new ants appear to be far away from the original game concept. Actually I have no idea of the original game concept as to how it considers the ants, what are they supposed to be. It's just to me they were always like little fiery things, fantasy creatures, as much fantasy as the whole Tamriel is a fantasy land with two moons in the sky. Do the ants need to be realistic? They don't. Do the ants have to look like vanilla ones? Yes, they do. Boring dark things won't do, wheather it's 4k or 8k. So, Mihail, please consider igniting them, giving them a touch of a red glow comming from inside, like if they were collecting grains of secret fire for Farengar,.. and I'll take them into my game, and take off my hat before you.
people talk a lot about masser and secunda being unrealistic but its a bit more complicated than that ,in fact it is a normal thing for a Terrestrial planet to have multiple satellites ,but from what i can see Nirn must be a super-earth mass wise and if it was real its gravity must be punishing at least 140% earth's also ,its moons would generate massive earthquakes and storms. but hey its a fantasy game and lorkhan gave his own flesh to give us these 2 beautiful moons ,so thanks dad
@turtlegodking Well the middle part of the body is redish brown with the vanilla ones, just compare the dds. files. I think it resembles the regular wood ant (Formica Rufa) the developers put ingame, they build very big ant hills, but getting more and more rare in the region i live, sadly.
I dont mind this new version, altough i prefer vanilla designs and keeping it as close as possible to the original design idea.
am a bit confused after looking at my effects folder ,why the heck does the original ants texture has a glow map ? to my knowledge skyrim's ants never went to chernobyl or had solstheim cousins... i like the male addition ,well done sir
