It seem that convert not only "SE to LE" but also "LE to SE" are hard.
SE esp are updated latest and form ID were changed on each base esm files like Update.esm on 2023/12.
so if mod are large quest mods, ctd might be happen as high rate after read the unresolved Form ID.
as same reason, this also problem are going to happen on "LE to SE convert".
but if know the FormID relation of base Le esm files and SE, those will be fixed.
as alternative, it seem that it's best plan to both install both LE, SE.

    Bonjour,

Y'a-t-il un moyen de rétro-porter ce mode vers LE si je ne possède pas le CK, s.v.p ?

Widget Addon - Keep It Clean - Bathing In Skyrim - Dirt and Blood

    I have a question:

I want to convert a personal npc overhaul mod of my own creation, with custom heads, from LE to SE. It looks like jt worked properly except for the eyebrows. The eyebrows are purple, which from what I understand, means a missing texture, but I have the textures active (brows from the Fair Skin mod). I ran SSE Nif Optimizer to see if it's fixed (but haven't had a chance to check it). If it still has a problem, what else can I do? Should I just start over?

Thank you! Hopefully these all work. I really wish Bethesda didn't make SE. All it did was split the modding community for this game.

I have a question in case anyone can answer... I am (right now) downloading a "no steam" Skyrim SE from GOG... but I play Skyrim LE... (GOG doesn't offer LE). So, my question is, is it at all possible to convert Skyrim SE to a 32bit format, or whatever would be required, to essentially transform my "no steam" Skyrim SE into a no steam Skyrim LE (so that I wouldn't have to start all over building my perfectly modded game)?

I'd given up on SE and AE. Had enough of their forcing updates. Then the game I wanted to play wouldn't.

UNTIL, GOG arrived. Now the hope is back again. But so far nothing works yet. 5 hours of giving it a go. Setting up skse, skyui. And a pile of other. So back to LE. And give them time. Wonder if the old modors that left will come back now? Hope so.

At least LE works, runs well............ mostly. And has the mods I want in it. :-)

Thank you! I manage to convert most of my favorite mods because of this.

One thing not mentioned is you need to check in XEdit for errors. The water in SSE doesn't "flow" the same as in LE. I've found that  you need to manually forward and/or delete the water records from SSE mods. I use USLEEP as a reference for water records as it corrects the vanilla ( LE) water errors as well.

yep i've had to remove a few water records too, but that worked for an animated water lily mod

I backported a mod that removes vanilla trees via a script. There were hundreds of water records that needed to be corrected.

I just wanted to post an update, I've noticed that running the files through the LE CK will fix the water records, This will also correct the Form to 43. There's an XEdit script that will change the Form, but won't do anything for the water records. I'd still recommend using USLEEP and the "check for conflicts" filter to forward all the USLEEP fixes.
