Females: Nord, Dark Elf, Condescending, Elf Haughty, Commoner, Commander, Even-Toned, Argonian, Orc, Coward, Young Eager, Sultry & Shrill.
In version 1.2, Ulfric Stormcloak and Serana's voice types are given full dialogue support--however, the dialogue is tied strictly to their specific character ID's.
Sometimes I wonder if I should stop supporting LE. Yes, I play LE, but the only ones I ever hear from (and even that's rare) are on the SE/AE side. It is extremely disheartening.
Since this mod page is a ghost town, I suppose this post is wasted, but just in case anyone actually bothers reading it: If you are holding off on trying Fare Thee Well for the sake of waiting on the 1.4 update, then just download it. That update has been put on ice due to lack of feedback.
There will be a new family-related mod arriving as soon as its latest additions meet my approval through testing.
This new mod will be what I like to term a "patchwork" mod. Meaning that unlike Fare Thee Well's released version, it will not offer full coverage of all the vanilla spouse voice types right from the start. Instead, it will be updated bit by bit over time. This course of action was chosen to (hopefully) prevent burnout.
The fate of Fare Thee Well is going to heavily depend on how well the new mod is received. If the patchwork releases are acceptable, then Fare Thee Well will receive similar "patchwork" updates--meaning, not all of its systems or features will be up and running for all the voice types it currently supports. The amount of script-work is just too intensive.
Would any of my LE brethren be interested in another family-oriented mod? If so, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll just port it to SE/AE and call it a day.
You can read more about ?????-??-????? here, but right now I'm waiting until I have enough time and energy to wrangle with the ever-buggy mod page editor.
Would any of my LE brethren be interested in another family-oriented mod? If so, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll just port it to SE/AE and call it a day.
Absolutely, I've been looking for mods with Hearthfire family interaction since I installed Skyrim on my PC back in 2017. On that note, just found this mod and decided to check it out. Shame you haven't been getting a lot of feedback on LE, but I guess that comes with the now smaller population. Cheers mate
Would any of my LE brethren be interested in another family-oriented mod? If so, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll just port it to SE/AE and call it a day.
I am, but since the machine I've been playing LE on has broken down (in terms of hardware), I've been saving up for a machine that can handle SE or AE. Whether I will play LE on that machine will have to depend on how it behaves in that machine (I'm hoping the newer machine will allow LE to crash less, but it's hard to say at this point).
I totally understand where you are coming from; my own computer is thirteen years old! Personally, I cannot even imagine what Skyrim must be like with more than 20-something FPS. Good for you, though! I hope you don't have too rough a time getting everything set up to your liking.
I was able to finally purchase a Skyrim AE-worthy machine. However, it looks like my LE copy is busted (my character consistently starts to float as if he's swimming right outside the tavern in Dragon Bridge for some reason) and there's this weird noise coming from some unknown location. Considering this & that the Requiem v3.4.x & v4.0.x documentation (which included specific recommendations for Mator Smash) has been completely hidden/removed, I think I will have to abandon LE for good.
Sorry if this isn't the news you were expecting, but it is what it is. I will terribly miss Wrye Bash's ability to merge small patches into the Bashed Patch, as well as other handy mods like Smart Cast & Grimy Utilities. On the other hand, it sure sounds like the ESL-flagging feature does wonders to a load order.
LE, SE, AE, and whatever new letters the mighty Todd decides to bless us with in the future, I'll support them all if I can. Or, since I can't exactly run the new ones on my rig, happily inform others if they ever break on the newer additions.
Seriously, though. I'm happy for ya. Good luck with the new computer, and I hope to see you on the SE/AE side soon!
trying to have somewhat of a life here, as in person I'm basically isolated (not exaggerating)
Not that I'm a weirdo, just a woman, a trans one. Just sharing to say that you're helping at least me having a glimpse of a life, so this mod page isn't a waste (specially because my pc too dates almost the date of release of the vanilla skyrim) You can delete this comment for not being like an bug related or something like that, it's just a feedback of gratitude
Thanks, and I hope you and your family are alright now.
Thank you very much, Hirokiyvn. It gladdens my heart to learn that my mod has been of some amount of help to you.
Edit - 3/27/24: I removed the greater part of my response. I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve, and I usually end up paying for it down the line. It's nothing to do with you, Hirokiyvn; I have been trying to reign myself in for a while now. Nonetheless, I stand by what I said. Your post truly did brighten my day, and I very much wish you the best.
Saw your sticky about never hearing from folks from LE so thought I'd chime in! Recently gave up SE and returned to LE (visual/ENB reasons etc) and am adding some marriage-related mods for this particular character. Honestly, the only thing in the past that kept me from downloading was seeing the random chance for a long-lasting curse. Scrolling through the comments I see the curse amount has been reduced. Is there a certain trigger like staying away from home too long or is it just random?
Thank you for continuing to support LE and definitely also will be trying out the Morthal mod as well. You are appreciated!
I truly appreciate you stopping by, Ondrea. This month has been something out of a nightmare for me in the realm of the real, so your post is probably going to be the bright spot of my week.
To answer your question: It's random. I would have liked to have it actually trigger based on the player's amount of attentiveness, but I couldn't find a way to do that without heavy scripting--and heavy scripts are something I try with all my might to avoid.
There are four blessings and only one curse (one variant for the spouse and another for the child), so the odds are in your favour to receive a beneficial buff rather than a curse, but it all comes down to luck.
One of my "test subjects" was unfortunate enough to be cursed by both his spouse and his child! Of course, that was before the curse amount was reduced--but if you're nervous, stock up on some potions before talking to your loved ones.
Fare Thee Well is in need of your feedback! If you would like to help me gather information for a brand new feature related to spouses, then please visit this link.
(Note to my LE brethren: Please take note that the link will transport you over to the SE side of the Nexus. I would normally create the article in both places, but I honestly get a lot more traffic over there, and it's less fighting with the terrible editor to deal with. Thank you for your understanding.)
I currently have the "Hjaalmarch Edition" of Denizens of Morthal on my operating table...
But that doesn't mean that Fare Thee Well has been forgotten!
As I tried to make clear with the last video uploaded, version 1.4 is a very trying update to create. The new forgiveness system requires numerous voiced responses from every voice type that FTW currently covers, plus five new ones. The gifts available to craft can elicit different reactions, and (where possible) I have tried to make the reactive dialogue unique to each gift. No single voice type is alike, so this alone means that the update has more dialogue than the whole of what FTW presently contains.
Along with the forgiveness system, there is also another new feature that is exclusively between the player and adopted children. I'm hoping that this new feature will bring some extra balance, because it is possible to pick the wrong gift and be punished for it.
I have been trying to contact Rengel for quite a while now, but have had no luck thus far.
What I need to speak with her about is connected to the upcoming 1.4 update, so if anyone happens to have the ability to speak with her, if you could please tell her to contact me that would be extremely helpful.
man, this is a beautiful mod my good man :O It has to be one of the most beautifulist ones I've seen this year, well one of them at least This is gunna make the game feel so, SO much more alive! It's like real life now
Alright my good man! Now, I do have one complaint im afraid Its working and is very immersive, however I think the infinite negative buffs are a bit too harsh. It would fare better if the negative and positive buffs were time based, like for 72 hours. I found that that negative stamina regaine is completely killing my character's ability to attack.
I'm out all the way across the map so coming back to receive a new buff from my spouse is gunna be hard.
Would you please consider making a time based effect instead of the permanent one?
Actually, it is time based. It will last for 5 in-game days and then expire.
Edit: Ah, I think I can understand your confusion now. These effects behave differently in the Active Effects panel. They won't show their timed duration, but I assure you that is ticking away--it's just happening out of sight.
Do you have any fortify stamina potions with you?
Let us temporarily call upon the aid of a certain Divine I like to call "The Watcher." The mighty and ever perceptive Watcher has decreed that you must activate your console commands and type in:
I'm afraid 5 in-game days is just too long. of course stamina potion console spawn is good and all, not too immersive though. Just whenever if ever you happen to find the time, it would be pretty dope to give only two day duration a thought. Anyways thanks still bud
Look, this isn't the easiest mod to make multiple versions of, especially since I am already considering covering additional voice types in future updates. However, I will consider making the curses less powerful.
Edit: The deed is done.
Spouses before: 25% damage. Spouses now: 14% damage. Children before 15% damage. Children now: 7% damage.
Can you please make a 'curse eraser'? As in something that will bring my stats back to normal? Even if it's just like a one time download, I found that my curses are perminent after uninstalling on one save?
I know this is an extremely late reply, but I went on a hiatus from the Nexus and did not see your comment before I left. I'm so sorry, lefttounge.
I'm working on version 1.4, and there will be a method--actually two, if all goes well--to remove the effects. I'm attempting to keep everything very much XBox and lore-friendly, but the more extreme of the two methods was greatly inspired by your plight. If the scripting process works out, then the second method should remove all of the negative effects from the curses of both spouses and children--even the ones that were cut in version 1.3.
It does require a ton of new splice-work, though. I have to make lines not only for the new voices getting support in 1.4, but also create lines for all of the voices I already covered.

By the way, the Unusual Shrine of Mara that makes an appearance in this will be of particular relevance to you.
I do not use that particular mod, but as long as Serana is still assigned to her original voice type and placed into the vanilla PlayerMarriedFaction, the dialogue from Fare Thee Well should work fine.
From what I have heard about SDA, Serana seems to suffer from split personality since she has two very different voices playing at times. Given that, I would guess that she is indeed still assigned to her original voice type, and that the new dialogue from the voice actress who was brought in is merely conditioned to check for her ID.
See, when you condition dialogue to check for just a character's ID, that's all it really does. When I expanded the dialogue of one of the housecarls (who is originally male) in a different mod, one of my downloaders came back to me very distressed. In his game, this particular male housecarl was made female through the use of other mods--both in body and voice. So he had his female housecarl going back and forth between her newly assigned female voice type, and also that of the original and very much male voice type--which was a product of the expanded dialogue I had created.
Though I have yet to release the update that will prevent this from happening in the future, the solution is to condition each bit of dialogue to check for both the character's ID and their original voice type. That way the issue of split personality can be completely avoided.
The author of SDA is most likely trying to avoid doing that very thing, because of how much Dawnguard dialogue he would have to re-create with the new voice actress.
If you don't want to mess with the Creation Kit, then you might be able to add her to the marriage faction via console commands. I've never done that before, but this link might be helpful in explaining the process.
