I just spent a solid 12 hours in this new world, (20 min of that being searching for the player home after I got the key but not finding it. I finally found it when I came back from Skyrim to complete my missing outfit sets. lol) exploring it almost vanilla (only Realistic Water Two in terms of environment changes) and it looks and feels stunning! Even Bethesda can learn something from how well this landscape was made. Your forest is so real, I totally got lost in it. (playing without compass) And even though there are no quests, the environmental storytelling here is so good it tells all you need to know.. AND what's best; exploring and being curious actually gets you rewarded. I personally recommend exploring it without compass (iHUD for example) because you see just so much more of the world if you don't run straight from POI to POI. (Same as with running after quests.) I only had a small few issues, 1. Not being able to see the map due to all the clouds, but I understand that's nothing that can be fixed. 2. the frozen lake LOD looked purple in my game. 3. There was a small square around the long snakey river that was glitching around for some reason. It was solid though, just looked weird. 4. I got a ctd when running back to town at speedmult 200. xD A bit too much stuff around perhaps to handle speedy loading. So I recommend to take it slow, or save before pushing the limits around harbor town.
The dungeons are really well made too, great locations to discover, and good puzzles(easy peasy ones, but good nevertheless)! Wasn't a fan of the top of you know what you know where, but that's just my own personall taste, and I know that that differs from majority of humans so, yeah, just my own taste. At least I got to kill him. lol. Still was a great journey all the way! Including loot. I don't think I ever need to go gathering ingredients again. Ever. And I can open a new jewelry shop now...
Mod does NOT collide with Pirates of the North mod. The shetty is just at the right distance from the pirate town right next to it. Didn't have any issues going to and from. Except for a mudcrab pinching me right after getting off the boat. I punched back, the mudcrab gave up and left. All's well that ends well.
10/10 Would reccommend! Might even add it to my full playthrough that I plan on doing next, after I'm done experimenting new lands.
Such an awesome atmospheric new land. I dig the cozy, uniquely styled architecture and hamlets. The different custom monsters are a nice touch. One of the few new land mods that transport you to another realm!
Finally found time to take a continue the expedition there. Conclusion: Best landscaping I have ever seen. Consistently pulled off despite the size of the area - that's admirable. Unfortunately (actually I do not miss them here) no real quests in there and such. So the mod "remains" like a journey through a beautiful diverse winter-dream landscape, interesting caves, discoverys etc., and some fightings every now and then. Everywhere seems to be a or the mystery lurking. Turn on the soundtrack and off you go. Best with talkative followers on horses and slow pace. It's a slow down invitation and thus not for the gamer-majority. Well, its their loss... Typical contrast: There is this mod with a great huge landscape and no quests in it, and on the other side there is a Falkskaar with a bad landscape design and huge quests in it. Projects like those benefit from more people working on it.
I do need help with that lol, This land is fun to explore by the way , really nice work thanks for making this. No crashing for me either and i have a rather unstable Oldrim , load order is near the bottom in Mod Organizer.
hi, i just downloaded the mod and immediately got a repeated CTD's around the dock area of Northpoint (from Skyrim). I got a jacked up load order but the CTD happened in the Northpoint worldspace, so i guess this is a texture issue perhaps?
Hi. Thanks for the mod. Your attention to detail in making this world space is fantastic. Well done.
Question about the dragon and father frost...
Is the dragon just there for effect, or is there something ele to it? Is it supposed to be invincible for some reason? I've pounded the hell out of it but it won't die.
And what's up with the Father Frost guy and the female Khajit? When I enter the cabin they attack me. But there doesn't seem to be any point to any of it? Did I miss or break something?
The dragon is a vanilla Skyrim levelled actor, do you have any mods that touch the dragon levelled lists? But it is weighted to be a tough fight.
I'm a big fan of Bloodmoon, and the 'frost guy' (don't want to spoil it too much for anyone else) is an homage to a TES3 encounter. If you look for his name on the UESP wiki it will make more sense.
The dragon is not invincible. It just doesn't have enough space to land high above ground(where you found it), so you need to move down to lake level. If it's health bar is empty it will land and die. I've been all over the island, but I didn't find father frost. It looks like I have more exploration to do.
Best way I can think to describe this is like if you read the appendices to Return of the King, and some of Tolkien's other assorted notes about Middle Earth...and that's it, you never read the actual books or even saw the movies or anything. Like, there's all this stuff here, this foundation, but that's all; nothing is built upon it. Northpoint looks great, especially since it's 100% snowy and icy (I have no idea about the 4 different zones mentioned in the description) but still has enough variety to keep it from being boring. That's actually quite skillful, like a special effects guy who pulls out miracles on a shoestring budget. I like the unique aspects to the aesthetics (I never played Daggerfall, so I don't know if this is accurate to that at all, since it is supposed to be set in Highrock) too. But that's it; no quests, no unique spells, no unique equipment except a few painted shields and a few basically generic enchanted weapons given names, no perks or powers or shouts, practically no lore or worldbuilding. There's even stuff that, frankly, demands explanation; I won't ruin it, but there are definitely the kinds of things that, normally, would trigger some kind of quest. It's really very good in the few things it does, but it just does so little. I feel bad knocking it but it's like 1 kid in the group turned in his part of the group project, which he worked his butt off on, but you still have to give him a failing grade because the other kids did literally nothing, so the project is 75% unfinished. If you want to wander around aimlessly for 2-3 hours and look at some different architecture and dungeon designs, fighting a handful of enemy types, then have at it, but it's not really something I can recommend otherwise. I really want to see mods for this mod!
