I added a new file for those that would like both textures active in the same game. Use this file if you want two daggers (one of each texture) in your game. Enjoy Nico
I am unsure what exact requirements are for DSR as I have migrated to SSE and Ecotone dual sheath that I have created the left and sheath files for. I am sure there is a tutorial somewhere for DSR and if like Ecotone dual sheath mod it only requires some easy modifications to the nif file to create. I don’t believe the EDS Files I have made will work for SLE and DSR so my best suggestion since I am currently in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on Maui and unable to get to my computer is to follow those tutorials for DSR. have fun modding Nico
As for coloration I have seen different variations from movie prop to licensed replicas to fan made pieces. I chose two color combinations I personally liked and ran with it.
The model’s texture map is easy to follow and broke apart in a way to make any retextures easy to do. Have fun modding it to whatever color scheme you personally want. have fun modding Nico
In any case, this has become one of my favorite movie weapons from the moment I saw Fellowship Of The Ring, and you've done a beautiful rendition of it. A truly outstanding job that you should be proud of.
Color is a tough thing for something like this. Trying to hit that exact shade can drive you completely bonkers. I personally like the Walnut with silver variant because it suits my character’s color scheme but when I dual wield it with Hadhafang the red with gold is my choice. If I had to say what I remember from the movies the metal is definitely gold in color and the wood does have a red hue like the Mahogany version but appears handled and dirty from use almost giving it that walnut color appearance. In any case retexturing is welcomed if you want to tweak it from what is offered here. I really like the shape of it as well. It retains real world functionality while adding in that Elvish fantasy flair. Hats off to the weapons designers from the movies for creating some of the best weapon designs I have ever seen. Tauriels bow, and daggers. Thranduils sword, Hadhafang, Rivendell and Mirkwood bows..... and more to come. Is my LoTR nerd showing? LMAO
I believe when you say that getting the right shade is tough. Anyway, don't take this as a criticism, as I didn't mean it like that at all. Both versions look stunning. Thanks for the permission, but I won't be doing any retexturing, as I feel it unnecessary to do so, And to be honest, the silver and walnut version has really grown on me.
Anyway, the blade possessing real-world functionality, but still having a noticeably otherworldly Elven design is perfectly put and one of the reasons why I love this weapon so much. (By the way, I really ought to buy the replica, been wanting one for decades now).
And not just with elven weapons, but designers and artisans from WETA did a remarkable job overall... from Sting, Glamdring, Narsil/Anduril even to the Uruk Hai's scimitars, all of these weapons appear realistic, while still having their own flair and elements that tie them to the fantasy world of Middle-Earth.
And your LOTR nerd isn't just showing right now, but it is noticeable from your other works, from Hadhafang, Mirkwood, and Lothlorien bows, Tauriel's daggers, up to your newest addition, Orcrist, that you have the love for this world and its weapon designs. And I, as a LOTR enthusiast myself, take my hat off to you, for that. Keep up the good work!
uploaded v1.1 Reworked textures on the blade for higher resolution and to remove any graininess. Scaled dagger to 9/10 of v1.0 size to better reflect the size of this dagger in the movies. Enjoy
Your weapons are immediately recognized for their elegance and unique design, you can see that you design them with passion. I hope he does an AIO series for daggers too, in the meantime Happy New Year.

The only thing I must note is that the walnut and gold combination would be truer to the color-scheme of Aragorn's dagger from LOTR.
As can be seen here:
