I recommend checking out the Forum tab on the SE page if you have any questions. You may find some answers there or find a thread that gives your post more visibility so others can find it in the future: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26627?tab=forum
Your toon might become permanently covered with a shiny effect. It might be related to the automatic re-equipping of Draw&Ward (assuming you've enabled that feature).
Try: Equip non-SpellSiphon concentration spells in both hands (to trigger auto-equip). Begin casting, then sheathe/unready while still casting.
Just a quick question, is this mod balanced for a certain difficulty or still effective on higher difficulties like legendary? Testing right now on my high level mage and getting mixed results, most of the time it takes way more time to kill stuff, but i still didn't figured out how to play with it properly.
The thing i always hated the most in skyrim are the pauses of action because menus... this mod looks very promising, maybe i'll start a new game with this on.
Wait actually I just realized that it was not the same spell it just kind of look like it cause he had lightning and oakflesh spell on his hands which looks like the default binding spells.
Hi so...uh, I lost the Binding 1, Binding 2 and other books (Animation and discharge) but the rest Spellsiphon, Spellsiphon folder (including all its files) and Spellsiphon research are safe. So I restarted the progress from scratch luckily, my character is only level 10, so not too much of an issue, but I am clueless as to how to find those binding books because when I go back to a previous save (level 6), the ref ID is not the right one and I cant find its BaseID does anyone know its codes? Or where I can buy them again? {:@
Ran into a minor incompatability with Undeath. Once you become a lich, using Ward causes damage, rather then healing it. And, can't use Bind at all when actually in lich form, but that's to be expected. Admittedly, even with all the fixes and new adaptations to that eldritch mod, it's still a buggy kludge. Just keep in mind you really can't use Spellsiphon effectivly as a lich.
A small request. Would it be possible for Ward to cast more light? It's brigtness and radius are fine if one is, say, tying his shoe. A replacement for a torch? Not even close. Too soft, too faint for the purpose. Perhaps an MCM slider for brigtness?
Are you sure it's the built-in Ward light you're seeing? And not something another mod replaced it with? Like Strange Runes (dunno if that's on LE). The radius of the spell is pretty big, like 20 meters or so, and the light is dim sure but enough to clearly make out environment details and enemies. If not some mod changing the light itself maybe you have some lighting mod or ENB that's changing its impact.
Anyway, yes you can change it. Open it in xEdit, go to Light, there's only 1 option in there. You'll get a list of parameters on the right. One is radius, another is color. To increase brightness, increase the red, green and blue values by the same amount. E.g. add +50 to each one.
Hey Arctal I have updated to the newest version of your mod (5.18) and notice THIS (picture) ,is it normal to have draw spell, world, death and life spells in spellbook? I know i haven't got them in last version or rather say they are not meant for the spellbook.
Yup, those are correct. They are a new, more transparent, way to view the damage and behavior of your spells. Here is the related passage from the 5.16 patch notes that introduced them:
" === Spellsiphon damage has been made more transparent in game ===
- World, Life and Death now have "reflections" in your magic menu which you can use to view their exact damage.
Discharge, Binding, Animation and Fusion effects do not have their own reflections as it would be too much clutter in the Magic menu. Instead, their damage is still given in their books similar to the previous "does x times the damage of Draw" but its now e.g. "does damage at x times World Potency" with the World Potency damage being given by the World reflection spell.
So before you would have to take Draws base damage (4), multiply it by your Magicka Regen bonus, multiply it again by your perk bonuses, multiply it again by any gear bonuses and multiply it yet again by any special mod effects (like if you're running Awakened Magicka) and finally multiply it one last time by the number in the book to get the final damage.
Now, you just take the number in the World reflection (which autocalculates ALL of those extra factors for you) and then multiply that by the number in the book and you're done. "
Oh, I see, this info slipped somehow to me hehe thanks for pointing this out. Btw all works fine so far, as always great update and improvement. Thank you.
No worries, it's my fault for never bringing 5.16 to you LE folks (i kinda forgot...), so the patch notes for it is not here on the LE page, you gotta go to the SE page for it (i mentioned this on the 5.18 patch notes here on the LE page).
Thanks for reporting back that it's working well! I never have time to go in and test these LE releases any more so i'm hoping they keep working like SE does and confirmation of that from you is great to have :) Glad you like the updates as well!
Just one more thing i noticed and wish to know When perfectly blocking with ward (when holding a ward and enemy hit you at the same time and slow motion effect occurs) I don't regen health for some amount anymore. Is this also new or? In the last version I had when I hit ward at the same time as enemy attacks there was a slow-motion effect like stunning them and I used to regain some amount of the health on this. Holding the ward normally restores health and works fine.
Yup, also intended. Was removed in 5.17: " Removed healing burst when performing successful timed blocks with Ward or Imbued weapons. Timed blocks are already sufficiently rewarding with the stagger, time slow and Woven Power stack effects. The scripted nature of this healing effect also made it work even when under effects that are supposed to block all healing which wasnt great. And many players even missed its existence entirely cause it's not intuitive. "
Arctal I need your help, once again... So basically, I started a new run, and I got to lvl30 of destruction, enabling me to open the discharge tome. But I can't get the bound weapon to work. I can't summon any bound weapon. What am I doing wrong?
A few versions back locked weapon summons behind a new book that you need to read (requires only 10 skill). It's called Elemental Binding while the old book with that name is now called Elemental Binding II
I need something explained. In really small words, cos I'm not getting this thing at all.
Life Foci. What the actual flip is going on with this? It looks great, but it does significant damage to me when I use it. Not only that, but it's dualwielded, so my healing ward is not available to counterbalance the damage I'm taking every second these things are firing.
I must be missing something. And, this has been bugging me for a while, why the heck do you even have a weapon that murders the wielder?
Try casting life foci on a dead body (for a few sec) also when attuned with one of the elements it is a great weapon. Also, keep an eye on the health while casting it ,Life foci is handy if you know how to handle it
Here's a passage from the patch notes when Life Foci was released that may help explain it's niche:
" Compared to the bow (which is the closest weapon to compare it to since it is also ranged and two handed) the damage per second is identical. The bow takes 2 seconds to fire and initially does 16 damage per shot. The Life Foci channeled over 2 seconds will do 4 x 2 Foci x 2 seconds = 16 damage. Since they scale at the same rate, their base damage will stay identical no matter your health. So with that in mind, the advantages are as follows:
Bow advantages: -Can sneak attack and stay stealthy - Can bash - Can receive damage boosts from enchantments (fortify archery) - Has higher damage boosts from vanilla perks (100% compared to Destructions 40%, requires more levels in the perk tree though) - Can use custom arrows for extra effects (custom arrows will never do more base damage than Bound ones though) - Benefits from Conjuration Bound Weapon perks (notably the +40% damage mystic binding perk). - Does not drain health
Life Foci advantages: -Ignores armor and resistances - Summons in 0.5s (compared to Bow at 2s) - Deals damage constantly which can finish off low health targets up to 2 seconds earlier than the bow. - Easier to aim, will do full damage as long as you don't miss the target for more than 1 whole second (compared to bow that can miss arrows far more easily, losing 2 seconds worth of damage) - Does not slow your movement - Shares perk tree with your other Spellsiphon abilities, skilling up faster, receiving perks earlier and saving perk points. - Can perform Life Reanimation and Life Fusion. "
Short answer: Why does it kill the wielder? It's a balancing factor and it makes it more distinct and interesting to use as the health loss opens up synergies with spells that benefit from lost health (several mods add such spells). Lore-wise it needs to draw its power from something. Contrary to Drawn spells it's not using the energies around you and it's not using magicka

You might have to try this a few times.
@Arctal: Cool mod, thanks for sharing!
