it seems like this extension doesn't work, or at least doesn't work properly. The only mod that works is "better starter items plus" for me. This is VERY aggravating ,and I'm pretty much lost.
Just tried this tonight, even tried the symlink option, just trying to enable the no intro fix, vortex acts like it works fine, mod acts like it has installed correctly. But mods dont seem to be working...
Some mods requires integration like the Zeds drop loot mod that requires Helios' Mod Manager because of integration feature. I hope Nexus update it's extension and add integration feature because I'm having problems with Helios' mod manager.
Recently switched from mod manager to vortex. However on vortex it says there are no mod conflicts but on the old mod manager is says there are. I went back to the old manager to check as there were aspects of mods not showing up in my game eg. Darkside redux vehicle's back to base speed, the 'heart of darkness mod' is supposed to generate more PH's but seems to be the same as base. Am I doing something wrong here?
Very new to modding so sorry if I'm not providing enough info. Also as a side question do I need to manually arrange my load order in vortex? As I was led to believe it does this for you (like loot)
Unfortunately, Vortex is unable to automatically check conflicts inside of .pak files, currently. I do have plans to eventually add that into the extension itself, as I just recently found out this would be possible (a few days ago in fact, talking to another one of the extension developers lolz). Stay tuned! Hopefully an update will be something I can work on soon, after my current (huge) project is in a better spot.
I can confirm that using the extension to install, enable, disable, update, re-order, etc.. those all work for the MS version. There IS a known issue with it not having permissions to properly access the .exe for the game, but that's an issue with Windows permissions, and I currently can't do much with that (I spent an hour today with an MS user working on this).
That being said... the .exe access is only really needed if you wish to launch the game from inside Vortex; no other reason for it, currently.
This was working perfectly up until this morning and suddenly, I received a "deployment" issue that nothing fixed. I tried the suggested fixes within Vortex (even though it was working perfectly up until today); I tried uninstalling/deleting all vortex files/cache/etc and reinstalling everything. Same error even before any mods (only the extension) were downloaded. I tried wiping everything again including the game files/installation and going back through it all again. Nope.
Nothing I seem to be doing to fix it is working and at this point I'm very frustrated and out of ideas. Any suggestions you have would be appreciated.
I have Microsoft store copy and it's installed on my D:/
Usually, deployment issues have to do with the permissions of one or more folders; this isn't an extension issue exactly, nor even a vortex issue; usually it's a Windows issue. That being said, if you have the game installed on your D:\ drive, and you have the staging folder for Vortex on D:\ as well, there shouldn't be an issue.. Try using the symlink deployment method (I personally use their "beta" option that doesn't require elevation, and it has worked flawlessly for me). I do test on both Steam and MS versions of the game, and similar to you, have it all installed and configured for my own D:\ drive. I can't say as though I have come across the issue..
I'm not sure how I didn't see this comment, however if you're still having an issue with it, please let me know! Also make sure you have the latest version of the extension installed, just to eliminate that as one of the possible issues.
The mods installed through Vortex don't work at all. I already reinstalled the mods and the extension multiple times, and the mods still don't work. I have run out of solutions at this rate.
Could you provide examples of some of the mods that won't work? Keep in mind, it only supports .pak mods currently, or .pak mods inside archives (zip, 7r, and rar I believe are the supported archive types).

Firstly, I installed this extension. But it says "Not managed by Vortex".....Could you tell me what is problem?
And secondly, is this mod a sort of alternative for KaiHeilos's State of Decay 2 Mod Manager.....?
?

Thank you!
Either that or I can't figure out how

Thank you.
Vortex is unable to detect the game directory, which is normally at "C:\Users\Dell\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Dayton_8wekyb3d8bbwe"
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I am unable to find the StateofDecay2.exe file myself....
I really want to try the Midsummers-Night mods (https://www.nexusmods.com/stateofdecay2/mods/132)
Thanks...
