So, why does the extension manually manipulate the "_folder_managed_by_vortex" and .vortex_backup files? Vortex uses those for deployment and backups of existing files.
That is to keep compatibility with online play with other players who do not use Vortex. The game uses a checksum to match game data if there's any files even those small markers the checksum of your game won't match so this is a work around I made. If you read a bit further in the code they also get restored later for restoration of original files. 😉
Yeah no worries, I know it's probably not so "standard" it was the best solution I could come up with for keeping the player base of mod users not split between Vortex and manual installers. All tested and working fine anyway thanks for bringing up the question because no doubt others wondered the same. 😁
