I'm incredibly pleased to find that someone started looking into this concept. I'm hoping that its implementation becomes a standard in most mods.
I cannot adequately express just how frustrating it is to be unable to open an electronically locked door, due to a decking skill requirement, as the decker, who I just spent a few thousand nuyen to hire, stands beside me doing nothing.
Yeah I had to put a stop on creating my UGC which involves a private detective that hires runners to help solve cases (yes got the idea from the novel 2xs) until I found a way to utilize abilities from runners in my party at any given time.
Basically I'm trying to make it so you can control different party members and use their unique skills/abilities, the way things are now there is no real point in hiring runners that are inferior in combat, they may have decking abilities or talk to be able to talk to spirits but there is no way to utilize it unless its the player created/controlled character.
If you left click on your main character it switches to the next character in your party, and the desk on the left of the hiring desk can only be used by a decker, while the dead body can only be spoken to by a shaman. So hire a decker and a shaman and switch to them, I can't loop it yet but I've been going through a work around with tags which needs a little testing then I'll release a hopefully working one that people creating UGC's can use.
