Vortex installation does not work and I will tell you why.
The "mods" folder included is not actually recognized as a folder and causes the installation to fail.
You need to make a fresh zip, and a fresh "mods" folder inside the zip. Your package should look like:
zip > "mods" > dll
Repackage like that and reupload. Then vortex should work. I also recommend putting your "readme" inside of the mods folder. This will mitigate issues with the Schedule I Vortex extension.
Cheers, looking forward to including in a collection when fixed.
No problem. The vortex extension for Schedule I is finicky.
Anything dropped directly into the zip will goto "mods" Anything recognized as the same folder name under your game install will merge, such as "mods" or "userdata"
if you have "mods" as well as files dropped directly in the zip, then it freaks out because they both should go to the mods folder. And then it tends to have problems. That's what I meant by mitigation.
My recommendation is to ALWAYS have a parent folder like "mods" or "userdata" to put your stuff inside so it doesn't freak out.
So like: zip > "mods" > mod zip > "userdata" > config
Hi @SirUncleTyrone, I see that you have uploaded a similar mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/schedule1/mods/643) in your page from a previous author. Is that different from this @ImPJs mod ? Can you please share the differences, thank you.
And @ImPJs, thank you for this amazing mod, hopefully you can keep it updated.
Incase anyone in the future is curious, My mod is a save BACKUP mod, incase anything ever happens to your save you can revert back to a previous save. The Autosave Mod is a mod that will autosave your game every 5 minutes, also extremely useful! Using both will work great together
@SirUncleTyrone what happened to your mod? I would love an autosave mod but I suppose this backup mod will work in the meantime. I was hoping maybe you two collabed and merged them into one mod but I guess not?
The autosave mod unfortunately was not saving all objects within the gamestate. Therefore random objects were being deleted from people's saves. I don't have the source code nor the knowledge to maintain the mod so I have removed it from Nexus for the time being. I have no problem sharing the mod for others to decompile and improve upon, but sadly that can't be me.
Hey, I had one recommendation. I noticed empty backups filling up, and realized it was because I had an empty folder named "TempPlayer" in my saves folder. Maybe checking if there's any saves to actually backup before creating all those extra zips would be cool!
Enjoying the mod so far!! It's currently up in my collection along with a custom config.
Thanks for this backup mod. Love it. I have one request, could you make it compatible to install with the Vortex manager? Currently it only supports manual download.
