This is a great resource, thank you for the time.

I do have a question about the .models. Do you know which ones pertain to the helmet / headgear models? I'd like to re-color some of them but I can't figure which filenames correspond to them.

Unless I'm mistaken, they should be in the equipment folder, the "wl_head" files.

Looks like you are correct, thanks! I'd initially given up on them as the first two that I checked looked nothing like any of the headgear, but instead look liked magic staves. Turns out they were just the silver and gold hairpins. Thanks again!

Found a document a while back by reddit user u/MystifiedMango RF4 Content Documentation, it was originally for the 3ds version but I believe the item numbering is the same, just different file types. It has the file name for each model and shows what it edits in game, which has been super helpful with monster editing. Worth looking into if you need help finding something!

I saw that document pop up many times, but it does not have every model in the game.. not even close unfortunately. Definitely not the helmets.

Oh this is so much easier than what I'd been doing lmao. The .bfres format gives you much more access to the parts of the model than I'd been able to get before. Being able to see the texture actually update on the model by setting the shading to diffuse in Switch Toolbox is miles better than having to reimport the texture with HxD and run the game every time you want to make a small adjustment. Thank you very much for sharing this.

You're very welcome. I'm just glad I managed to stumble upon the right offsets when I was fumbling around. Unfortunately the same trick doesn't seem to work for textures.
