To anyone having issues with the mission "Brothers and Sisters one and all" while having this mod installed, deactivate it while you do this mission and turn it on afterwards. it breaks the part of the mission where you run away from the law.
I also encountered this problem. Fortunately, I did not install many modules. I quickly ruled out the problem with this module. The mod creator should remind the player in the description.
Did you read the mod description? It explicitly states the following:

It is not feasible for me to test this mod with the game's many story missions. While I don't expect any particular issues, if a mission has triggers reliant on a specific law response then it might break. If you have problems during a specific mission, simply disable the mod, complete the mission, and then re-enable the mod.
You could have found it even quicker by just... reading the mod description. Seriously people, is reading a webpage before you hit the download button really that difficult?

To be fair your description doesn't address this exact conflict. you could just add a little "known issues' or a "disable during' section and post "Brothers and Sisters one and all", since it's obviously a game breaker and you have the info handy. Would only take a second. I have an open ended "could interfere" on my mod as well, but once I get a report, I add it to my "incompatible" list. Otherwise you'll keep getting poked like I was. lol.. I get it. Trust me. Took mine down for a while actually. lol
Sorry, but no. I am not going to add user-submitted "issues" to my mod description. People routinely report errors on mods that are nothing to do with the mod itself, caused by incorrect installation, mod conflicts, or plain old user error. I do not have the time or inclination to prove/disprove issues which did not crop up during my own testing. That is why I made a point of specifically warning people about a potential issue this mod may cause... and guess what? This issue falls precisely within the the warning I've given.
If you expect to have your hand held whenever installing and using unofficial game mods, then please feel free not to use this one. It literally makes no difference whatsoever to me either way.
But it does address it. The modder displays loads of patience for you illiterates. The description is very clear, I'm even inclined to not want to install it because I read the description, and will do a heavy story run.
Hi, anyone had any luck merging the Honest Brawls section of this with 'LAW' or 'Crime and Law Rebalance'? LAW does something similar to this mod but it is only in self defense situations were law ignores a fist fight
I haven't tried myself, since I made these mods specifically because I didn't like the ones that were on offer. I prefer small or modular mods that allow me to pick and choose features, as opposed to someone else's idea of what the whole game should be like. I've made other personal tweaks to the law system too, but I'm not releasing them all... I just don't want lots of mods to support, to be honest.
A merge shouldn't be too difficult though. Honest Brawls contains just three files, so it would be pretty simple to compare them to the the same files in those other mods (via Notepad++ or similar) to see what the differences are. The main one would be crimeinformation.meta, as that is what determines what is and is not a crime. Look for CRIME_UNARMED_ASSAULT, scroll down to the singleplayer section, and check for differences there.
I haven't tried any other law-based mods with this one, so I'm afraid I don't know. If that mod makes any changes to how the law responds to crimes and how many reinforcements show up, then it probably isn't compatible.
I dont know if its just me, but i cant get rid of this mod, i didnt like that i can kill 50 npcs like a maniac and didnt get any witness, cops do nothing, and killing cops gives you zero bounty lol, this is stupid. I deleted every file of this mod from my game, but still law is broken, like this mod changed my rdr forever, how can i delete it for good?
try removing vfs text document at the bottom of main game folder, as part of LML it retains the names of all the mods it detects, maybe it still thinks the mod is still installed, once deleted it will generate a new file when you launch the game

None of those things are features of this mod. Either you have installed it incorrectly, you have a conflict with another mod, or you are using other mods (or cheats) that disable the crime system. Please pay attention to mod descriptions before claiming they do things which they clearly do not.
Yeah this honest brawls is good idea but mod causing so much problems that im no longer use it, In first night folk encounter when you found that crying ghoul lady, the night folks supposed to attack you, with this mod they just stand there and wait to be shot and you cant even talk the hillybilly stranger after night folk first attack with this mod and this breaks some other stranger missions too, like Brothers and sisters one and all and there its understandable because you are dealing with the law after all, but I don't see any point in this second stranger mission because the mod shouldn't even affect dealing with stranger. but yeah, finite response is good and I like it, but until the problems in numerous side quests are fixed, I don't recommend using honest brawl..Unless you can keep taking it off and putting it back on, also after i stop using honest brawls my crash ratio is much smaller, i got 49 other mods without any issues but this one causes allkinds of additional problems... I have also excluded every other mod so I am absolutely sure that the problems were caused by this.. Here is my mod list and i got zero problems with any other mod

I have used honest brawls for countless hours and not encountered one, single crash. Literally not one. So this mod is not directly related to any crashes you are experiencing. It may be conflicting with one of the numerous other mods you use, but that is not my fault or my problem. It's yours as the end user, because ensuring complete compatibility with all other available mods is simply not feasible for any modder... especially when people are using 50 of them at once. My own mod list amounts to around 5, and I have no crashes whatsoever.
As for the mission issues, I have clearly stated the workaround in the mod description which apparently nobody bothers to read. The mod cannot be "fixed" as it makes no changes whatsoever to how mission triggers work. If a trigger requires something which this mod tweaks or disables, then there is nothing I can do about that. I am not about to go through the files of every single mission in the game to check and tweak every individual trigger. Feel free to do so yourself though, if you have the ridiculous amount of time that would take to spare.
It's certainly possible, though it is beyond the scope of this particular mod.
You might want to check out Ped Damage Overhaul, a highly customisable mod which does what it says on the tin. One of the options is setting the health level of NPCs, another is increasing the damage of various weapon types, including fists. You can even make people die from punches, if desired.
does the honest brawls mod not work in saint denis or are they just extra sensitive? i go everywhere else, beat someone, no one cares. i go to saint denis and everyone gets mad because i beat someone for wanting to rob me. please fix this, i'm tired of these bounties in saint denis
Yes, I've confirmed that there is now an issue in St Denis, so that you do end up getting wanted for unarmed assault in that town... and only that town. Presumably something to do with one of the game patches. I'll check it out as soon as I can and see if I can fix it. Thanks for reporting.

It was an issue because it went against what this mod is supposed to do. Unlike some modders/developers, I do not use "real world logic" to excuse bugs, errors and oversights.
