This is a great mod idea but it bugs me that the actual black versions of some items aren't replaced, but other colors instead. The best example is the rifleman gloves—there's already a black version in game (whichdirty and looks like more of a gray), but the ones replaced are the medium brown next to them. It would be better to replace the extant black versions of items instead of overwriting other colors.
i dropped the individual files (without the folders they come in) into RDR2/lml/stream and they worked if you dont have lml get it and if it doesnt have a stream folder create one
I had the same problem. When the costume is exposed to sunlight, red splotches appear, which seems to be an issue with this mod. So I can confirm that it is not your problem.

I told a person who mods games about this, and he said that the textures likely have advanced layers that appear when the sun is shining on them. It's apparently very difficult and time-consuming to modify textures in games like these.
