Nice mod. I'm using vulcan though. For a huge fps boost. Open the system.xml file. Lower the LOD numbers to around 0.5 or maybe lower.
It's in documents/rockstar games/red dead redemption 2. The LOD deals
with detail in the long distance. In my testing. I noticed a huge fps
    boost when lowering it.

I'm using an rtx 4060 as well.

Use these console settings as a blue print. Then tweak what is needed from there.

This LOD rdr2 vid may help as well. In regards to fps boosting.

I keep my textures on ultra, anistropic at 16x, lighting on ultra. Shadow on medium. Everything else I keep on low/medium.

Keep your resolution on native. Put dlss on performance or quality mode.

Smoothness is more important than max fps. Use a trainer. Change the weather to
white out. Then compare the white out weather to the other weather to
see how smooth the game is.

We don't need to fiddle with the nvidia settings too much. Just change the in game settings. Put vsync or half vsync on
and enable low latency mode. This works in full screen mode or windowed
border less. At least in my case.

I'm playing on 1440p and a locked 75fps for testing. In full screen mode. I just keep the game at 59hz or 60hz for now.

Also it's important to put our pride to the side. Not everything has to be on ultra lol. I don't want to my gpu crying haha.

Also. When it comes to the lower LOD fps boost values. Just increase the fog
in modded timecycle files. This helps to hide pop ins in the distance
    while keeping a fps boost.

    .......................................
    Edit.
After doing some testing. It seems like the LOD affects everything. I'm looking for the lod that affects only the far stuff. There's a lod mod I downloaded from here called Increased Geometry Level of Detail. I used the 1.7-2.0 version. Between modding that version and the my documents version. I'm able to achieve what's needed. I do see the fps boost. I think there may be another file in the game that only affects the far LOD.

I think reducing the draw distance and increasing the distant fog should increase fps.

Wow. This is actually great lmao. Thank you for the tips. I stream this game so i lose like 20 fps plus reshade makes me lose like 10 so this is really helpful.

You're welcome. I went from a 1650 super to a 1660 super to now a rtx 4060. This game is honestly not optimized well. Each recent patches just made the game worse lol. With tweaks here and there. It can run great with great visuals. I'm playing on a ryzen 7700x and 32 gb ram. Also in my opinion. Most modern games aren't games. They are just benchmarks
      pretending to be games.

Yeah i was even thinking about just playing this on console which is what i did the first time, but the 30 fps cap annoys me, even worse with a ghosting monitor.

Just wondering if this is just optimised settings? Or is it a mod. I have a 4060 and 1080p.

Its a system.xml mod that contains the optimized settings. The tutorial to download is in the bio.

I think it's worth warning in the description that dx12 is enabled in your settings, instead of vulcan, because I didn't know this, I didn't understand why it was crashing

should try playing the game at 1.78x DLDSR (100% smoothness) using the new latest DLSS version (preset K) makes rdr2 looks so much better after it fixes at that horrible TAA blur thats present at 1080p. this game honestly should be avoided at native res

also do urself a favor and use this mod regardless or resolution https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/2188

Great tip! I honestly dont use any dlss or dldsr cause my fps and visuals are good enough with it. But if anyone else is looking to squeeze out all of the frames they can possibly get then thats good to use.

the cool thing about 1.78 dldsr+dlss combo is you get similar fps to native res while getting MUCH better visuals after the taa blur is cleared up, looks like a remastered game

its only perfect when combined with a higher resolution than your monitor + DLSS upscaling with the new transformer, by itself at 1080p it doesnt save this game, rdr2 just isnt meant to be playeda at 1080p

I would have guessed the RTX 4K series ran this game at 2K and 240 fps, that sucks

Not even the 50 series can run over 130 at 4K. Its a very demanding game. Though, DLSS can help. I personally don't use it cause it runs good enough but at ultra performance you can easily reach 200 fps with a 40 series. It may look bad though.

Wow I also have a 4060 and use 1080p monitors. What a coincidentally perfect mod at the perfect time. My fps is fine but 50 isn't enough

MSAA also heavily tanks your fps. I honestly disable it in any game its in unless my pc can handle over 144 fps with it on .

Hitmannn47 is right. My fps drops lowest to 90 so its probably just your issue. Try lowering down to 900P?
