This mod is missing the ability to change the <deepsurfaceQuality>kSettingLevel_Ultra</deepsurfaceQuality> which in most players install is set at low causing mud tracks to not draw very far which is absolutely ridiculous that the game does that by default. It looks super goofy when the track just draws a few meters in front of you. On ultra its very nice and havent noticed a performance impact.
If anyone reads this comment and wants to know where to find it its in the system.xml file usually found in your user documents folder C:\users\****\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Settings
thing that really needs this is redm wish it would if you put it in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\RedM\RedM.app\data\cache\subprocess it would have worked redm needs it the most
it is very crazy .... this old beatiful game lokks better than ever .... dx12 crash the game with this mod but i still using vulkan. thx a lot for this "unlock max setting" mod
Edit: Important, three settings are definitely broken: Shadowquality (Sepcial) use individually to fix Waterrefelctionquality (Ultra) use High to fix Lightquality (Special/individually) use Ultra to fix
hi, i am playing this on my laptop (RTX3070, 16gbram, 8gbvram), downloaded this mod with performance preset, and using lodscale 1.25-1.5 mod, but the fps is only between 45-59fps, very rarely it goes above 60fps. what should i do or is there something i did wrong? i even used the DLSSTweaks to force DLAA and somehow performance is even worse.
Sorry if this sounds stupid but i am fairly new to this rdr2 modding
This doesn't really boost performance rather gives you the ability to go above and beyond usual settings. That preset I gave you gives me 80-90 frames using an i7 11700k with 3070 paired with 32gb of ram. Having a laptop you have a lot less powerful of a machine and probs a mobile gpu which are pretty lacking.
Because this is unrelated to my other post, I thought I'd make a new one. I'm now getting flickering on all major bodies of water when this mod is enabled. I've disabled and deleted every other mod except this one in my LML folder and they're constantly flashing between bright and normal in the night and daytime cycles. Don't know why this is happening, but as I said - no other mods installed. I know the mod is technically working because I can see all the new features in the Settings menu. Video footage here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFUiMHDT8Co
Found the culprit - when you set 'Water reflection' to Ultra - it goes to hell. Managed to turn every other water feature to its highest, but as long as you keep Water Reflections to High instead of Ultra, it works fine.
Did you make sure to put the right folder in the lml folder, the folder with the install.xml needs to be in the lml folder not the folder it came in. If that makes sense
I ran into issues with both Quality and Performance versions, cannot get above 60fps anywhere. I deleted the mod and the system.xml, the bins and Vulkan files, cleared out the entire system folder. Every time I setup a new system.xml, it is still generating the xml file like I have the mod installed. I see snow glint, particle shadows, ped lod, ext... (in the fresh xml not graphic settings in game.) Doesn't seem to mess with fps since I'm back up to 85+ would just like my original settings file back. So weird. Thanks.
I deleted both of the preset .xml's and the Detailed graphics info mod from lml, not a trace of the mod left behind. The unmodded system.xml never included: motionBlurLimit, maxTexUpgradesPerFrame, shadowParticleShadows, snowGlints, POMQuality, probeRelightEveryFrame, pedLodBias, vehicleLodBias and more...
I'm just saying I never recalled these being in the clean system .xml file. Am I missing something? If my game were to autosave with this mod, which it did, would that save mess with the system xml somehow? Sorry if thats a dumb question..
Thanks for the quick response, I don't see how this is possible, but I searched lml and the entire RDR2 folder for systemsettings.ymt, No items match your search. I do not have one.
Edit: Nevermind, I apologize, I just remembered I took screenshots of the original xml on my phone. Scrolled through and saw the options listed above^^. I see they are only added with your mod, which adds the extra options. Sorry man.. Thanks for the responses though.
Yeah, those settings are present in the xml regardless they are part of the game but being able to edit them in game is what this mod does just to clarify.
Just curious - if you're hoping to make the game look better and better, I don't suppose it would it be possible to get rid of the artificial spotlights that appear during cutscenes? It's insanely distracting. I know it's meant to ensure that all characters can be seen during the nighttime cycles, but it does look ridiculous in some cases. Not sure if that's your expertise, but it would make the game immensely immersive.
Well, I'm keeping a track of mods I will be using when I get my brand new spanking RTX 5090 and my Ryzen 9950X3D. This is definitely one I'm keen to try. While I know GTA V is rumoured to be getting the ray-tracing treatment soon on PC, it would be nice if they did a native patch from Rockstar to do the same here. Also, thanks for the quick reply.
Tried it - it's buggy as heck. Causes white blinding light with HDR during some cutscenes, opening cutscene where everyone is plowing through the snow - all lanterns and candles don't emit light so when Hosea enters the empty cabin - it's pitch black. He's holding a lantern but there's no light emitting from it. Definitely needs an update as it used to work for the most part, but that's going back a year or two when I last used it. I suspect that the HDR fix Rockstar made a while back eventually changed things.

I have much higher fps on Dx12
[Vulkan 60-90fps] <-----> [Dx12 100-150fps]
I will test this mod when i have time sick mod tho!

All my other mods are working.
Am I missing something? I loaded it with LML
cheers
If that makes sense
Water is bright red now. I’ll read other people’s posts and see if anyone has an answer
Edit: Fixed

* Sorry for bad english.
Delete the systemsettings.ymt from the mod linked above and use the rest.
Not sure if that's your expertise, but it would make the game immensely immersive.
