With this mod on, I'm not getting honor loss for killing ANY domestic animals, not just the dogs and horses of the police and bounty hunters. The animal cruelty minor crime seems to have been completely disabled as well; you can kill and skin a cow or sheep right in front of the owner without any repercussions. This is too far, imo. I just wanted a mod to disable honor loss from killing bounty hunter bloodhounds because R* made them far too ridiculously OP and dangerous and it was stupid that you lost honor for acting in self defense against an animal whose pounce was more deadly than that of a grizzly bear.
Good job on learning scripting to make a mod you wanted! I'm inspired! I'm in a similar boat, have ideas for mods but don't know how to make them. I learned some very basic scripting in an IT course several years ago, so I understand the logic behind it, but know very little besides. How long did it take you to learn enough to make this mod? Did you have any experience with scripting/programming/etc beforehand? What steps did you take to learn it, are there any good resources you recommend?
Im just a fool who watched a couple C++ and visual studio tutorials on Youtube on the weekends, speficially this one (6 hrs long): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TkoO8Z07hI and a few other ones about stuff like computer logic, code formatting etc. Took me a while to get the hang of it since im from Asia and my english still isnt very good. To start making scripts I downloaded this template enviroment https://github.com/Ked29/rdr2-scripting-environment to write things like set player invincible, spawn peds and objects with a Key press.
As I got more comfortable and learned how script modding works I started doing more ambitiouns things like adding blips to a ped, making it follow you depending on time of day and making it say lines. Overall I messed around on visual studio for 50-60 hrs before I ended up making this mod (excluding the time i spent watching tutorials, which is another 11-12hrs), but im a slow learner so for you it may take less practice. Good luck man! We need more people making high quality scripts
That's so awesome, thanks so much for your reply and those resources. Even more impressive that English isn't your first language. That's exactly the sort of thing I want to do eventually, basically making a ped follow you around under certain circumstances (e.g. button press), have them play certain speech lines without having to manually flick through them in rampage, basically stuff you can do in Rampage but without the immersion breaking element that comes with having to flick through that menu all the time.
Thank you, this has been bothering me alot, sometimes in a chase i just shoot the horses to spare the rider and lost honor for it, which never made sense for me Humanlife > Horselife
I agree completely. Especially in that day & age (even now), human life even if they were bad guys, were valued above animal life. So if i can spare unaliving someone by k*lling their horse, that's a very honorable thing to do lol
Nice one! Im surprised no one else came to that idea, or had the knowledge and time to change this. NOw we just need a mod, that disables honor loss when looting dead bodies and we can all die happy.
And disable honor gain during fishing. Many players exploit this mechanic by repeatedly catching a fish and throwing it into the sea, even if it lands on the sand, to farm honor. Additionally, it would be beneficial to remove honor gain when greeting NPCs, as simply walking down a crowded street and greeting multiple people can quickly boost one's honor unrealistically.
WOrks for me in real life. But jokes aside. I dont know how many points a single "Hello there Mister" increases a players honor. Those Rockstar Devs surely have a wicked sense of morals.
No Honor Loss when Masked does that. its a good mod but has its moments where you randomly lose honor when doing something bad. hope this author can make something similar to it.
yea that always annoyed me and i even tried to shoot the dog once or fire shots near them to stop them but they always come back at me. one time they actually did leave.
This is the one thing that always bugged me about RDR2, why is killing bounty hunters fine but their bloodhounds bad? or the horses lawmen ride, some missions you can shoot them with no issue but then in free roam it's an issue, makes no sense!
Lawmen and Bounty Hunter only. The Mod is disabling Honor loss globally when the player is in Law Pursuit and there are Horses/Hounds nearby, so the Honor loss event doesn't trigger when you kill the animals, if I make it trigger whenever there's a hostile horse around you will also not lose Honor for killing the rider or doing anything dishonorable while in Combat wich is not the point of this Mod

I'm already using scripthook v2, and the only trainer I have is "native trainer"
I don't think it's the trainer though because the mod works sometimes
