The accuracy tab in weapons' stats bar WILL NOT reflect the change, meaning selecting between long and short barrel will STILL show a visual difference in the bar.
I have acquired a second opinion from a respected creator IMaVeRicK, who confirmed that the stats bar is VISUAL-ONLY, and does NOT reflect weapons’ actual stats. Rest assured that the mod is working properly.
If you are not convinced, please check your mod loader’s log file.
If you are still not convinced, even with the log file, you may open the .meta files with TextEdit or NotePad and input an insane value to test it out yourself!
If you believe nothing is changed, please keep in mind that in the vanilla game the accuracy benefit of long barrels are extremely small to begin with. Specifically, all long barrels in the vanilla game give an accuracy of “1.100000”, a meagre 10% bonus. What the mod does is simply to make short barrels give “1.100000” accuracy as well, instead of the original “1.000000”. So keep in mind that the difference is tiny!
pleaseeeee make changes for the navy revolver im out here pretending to be Clint Eastwood from the good the bad and the ugly lmao and thanks for the mod
I understand from another comment on why you skipped online weapons, and I totally get it, but is it possible to make an exception for the Navy revolver only? It's just too good to not mod in and play with. Just a simple request - feel free to ignore if needed.
Hi! Yes you can change weapon stats to your liking by editing weaponcomponents.meta files in this mod and changing the modifiers of default components. Though by doing so you are not actually altering the weapon stats themselves but the effect of their components. That being said, I'm not sure whether these modifiers dictate stats for unique weapons. You can try modifying those of REVOLVER_SCHOFIELD and see if Otis Miller's revolver is affected. If that doesn't work or if you wish to look into changing weapon stats directly instead of component modifiers, please consult a more experienced modder in Rockstar games!
Sights upgrades should also give slight increase in accuracy, but R* just gives you FOV change. Longer barrel should give decrease in recoil, R* missed that, too (can't even add it to weaponcomponents.meta). Sights plus long barrel should be where accuracy is increased most. Long barrel plus ammo type (express/high velocity) should give increase in range, as well...I haven't found where exactly this range increase for those ammo types resides in a file, yet...placebo? (Ranges are tied to weapon, not component or ammo type.)
Also, you are missing M1899 pistol (mp001), Navy Revolver (mp006), and Elephant Gun (mp007).
Sir there is LITERALLY a folder named M1899. Not one letter more or less. And yes I was not going to include the online weapons as they are not meant to be in story mode to begin with.
Thank you for the kind words partner!! And yes I did notice that many mods only alter the .meta file under "common", which does not contain data for newer weapons like LeMat M1899 and Evans. Their relevant .meta files are stored individually elsewhere. way to go Rockstar lol
