Well done sir, well done. The only thing that I would add that is within scope would be to detect if the user is in water or under water. If they are then decrease their health until they drown. I was literally crawling on my stomach with the fishes and nothing happened. Other than that, simply amazing for what it is.
It has the weakness that it cannot be shot while prone, but it can be moved without slipping against an incline that would cause Arthur to slide if he moved while prone. Prone movement is a very nice performance.
if possible using the crouch should return player to crouch state, while jump can use the existing animation. sorry if this sounds stupid, don't know what kind of animation data is available or how we're allowed to manipulate it precisely
Love the idea and wonder why there's no proning in vanilla? But unfortunately the sole two reasons I would use this is to scout with binoculars, and to snipe with a rifle. In a perfect world proning would also completely remove/lower swaying of reticle and increase accuracy. I'd take that even with messed up animations and clipping issues since I play exclusively 1st person.
I don't like the "do that and have my kudos"-attitude, so instead I just download, give my endorsement, and patentially hope and wait for you implementing those requests despite me knowing how difficult this is actually achievable in RDR2 modding.

You'd be a Hero for many of us I'm sure.
To bad you don't have a donation button.
