I'm not sure how most people are installing their .asi files... but if you are using NMM it wont install the asi files correctly. Where ever you installed RDR2 (Default: C:users/[youruserprofilename]/documents/rockstar/readdeadredeption2 ) is where you need to drag and drop the file. You also need the dependancies such as Scripthook and any windows drivers such as Visual Studio C and updated graphics drivers for your graphics card. Mods will start unloading them selves from the RAM on your computer in favor of the game so if mods are turning themselves off mid game, check your ram. A simple save and reload from save (Don't always need to reload the entire game every single time.) I loaded in this mod by putting the ASI in the right folder and rode my horse around for a decent bit (around base camp 3 times, maybe about a mile in total, THEN and ONLY THEN did I ride up and start a fight with some one. Horse took about 7-8 bullets and whinnied but did not drop in health and I was able to win the fight with out having to make my horse into glue. Before y'all start complaining that mod's arent working... make sure you're not using 2 mods or more that alter the same file. Example: if 2 or more mods are trying to alter Player.cfg then either neither of the mods will work or they will crash your game. Using mods on any game will risk your save file corrupting even with the fewest amounts of mods (This isn't a problem if you're good about saving multiple copies of save file back ups. (Save files are in %appdata%/local or locallow. its the folder with a bunch of numbers. ) always back up your save files BEFORE ANY NEW MOD! Now that all being said, when installed correctly this is the best mod for horses. Also it's not that hard to turn mods on and off, just not all of them will be toggled in game. If you want to turn mods off for a section of the game, save under a SEPERATE save slot, exit to desktop, back up your save files, remove the ASI from the game folder, open game. (Or you can also deactivate mods temporarily with out removing hte files if the mod is not an Asi in nexus.) ASI files DO NOT install correctly using nexus, you have to manually install them in the game folder.
Man, I wish there was only anyway to adjust Fall damage / damage from horse. It seems just from a tiny drop I can die instantly from falling of my horse.... :/
sadly it didn't work for me either fastest way to test this mod is to throw a dynamite at your horse and it'll fall injured, you can then shoot it to finish it off.
Sorry for notifying late. The requirement is that You have to ride your horse at least once after the game loads. I have added it in the description and released a new update.
I wonder if it were possible to turn this ability on and off, as i get into some chases where bandits are chasing after me and 3/4 of the time my horse gets hit and i need to revive him. Is that possible, like through a toggle or an interaction with the horse?
Hi! Sorry if this is a stupid question, but i'm curious. I've heard that there is a certain random encounter with certain folk, that could end up with your horse dead. I'm not sure if that's a scripted thing, but would this mod be able to prevent that? I'm kind of afraid exploring at night because of that LOL. I don't want to lose my horsie.

But I have been away from rdr2 modding for a long time.
Sorry :(
Should have released all the source codes before I lost my hard drive.
To answer your question: I never heard about this. Never happened when I played. So can't really tell. haha
To make your horse invincible.
It's in the description.
