Excellent mod! I have been waiting for a mod to fix many of this games graphical issues for a while. There's a tree LOD flickering bug in this game that effects some of the nearby trees around the Pronghorn Ranch area making them use distant tree LODs on top of the tree model. Not many have reported this bug, but it only happens when facing in very specific angles. It occurs on the Vulkan API more often than on DX12 API. Would this be possible to fix? :)

this rendering bug in vulkan is the bane of my existence believe me when i say i have spend countless hours trying to see what is causing this, sadly havent found a fix for it yet.
it also actually happens all over the map and is not limited to that location and always with that specific angle, try checking the location in the pic i provided for another example of the same exact thing happening. that is ofcourse just one extra example but if you keep your eyes peeled you can frequently see it happen all over the map.
ill see if i can find a fix for it in the future but i basically consider vulkan too broken (visually) to be playable, the only way for me to completely fix this problem is playing DX12 with TAA enabled since DLSS also causes this bug.
Thank you so much for the reply and for looking into this annoying graphical issue! :) I thought I was going crazy from this bug for almost 2 years at this point, because I’ve seen barely anyone report on it! Yes, I have also noticed it happening a lot in the Saint Denis garden area, I forgot to mention that in the original post, but I didn’t know it happened all around the map I thought it was just those two locations :O. It's strange as this bug doesn’t seem to effect the Steam Deck using Vulkan; I don’t know if that’s because it's using a compatibility layer called “Proton” that maybe somehow fixes it? But Steam Deck has its own issues with RDR2 such as strange lines in the ground when loading in so it ain’t all perfect.
OMG, someone else also has this exact problem. I would suggest checking mayor’s mansion and try to go to the backyard through the right side. This glitch is just terrifying there. Man, if you eventually will fix this I’ll buy you a beer.
P.S. I heard that this bug occurs on RTX 30 series only
It also happens on the RTX 40 series, but I don’t remember it happening when I had a 980Ti a few years ago, but I could be wrong; pretty sure it’s just a Vulkan bug.
Just noticed this myself on a 4090, also running on Vulkan. Don't recall seeing the bug when I played the game on a 1080 and 3080. Also doesn't happen in DX12, though for me the the tradeoff seems to be more frequent microstutters compared to vulkan.
Do the Visualsettings.dat and Visualsettings.xml files conflict? I am trying to merge this with Dominators RDRII DX12 Enhanced. I'm also wondering what edits I need to make to the sytemsettings.ymt to merge another mod with this one. Thank you for any help!
Is there any easy way to tell if the mod is functioning properly? I'm looking at the sky and I've still got color banding which was something I really wanted to fix.
i wish whoever made this mod eternal peace this fixed every problem i had with the game though when it comes to screen space shadow the top of the screen still is glitching but not very noticeable but still thank you
Hey OmdeHoek! Thanks for this mod, It's very helpful. But can you please make it compatible with Best TAA and Visual Effects by RusGameTactics? It also uses visualsettings.dat. Also is this fully compatible with Increased Geometry Level of Detail which is also your MOD?

What exactly does visualsettings.dat file do for this mod? Can I delete it (I need to use visualsettings.dat from another mod and I can't have two of them iirc)
I guess it's too late to respond but I think he meant the far shadow distance appears different than usual . It shows " Custom " instead of low , medium , high or ultra ! I reckon it's because of " Butchers Creek shadow distance fix leftover " that you mensioned in description . because I have the same problem
At first I thought it wouldn't make any problem . up until I started to check if everything mension in description was true and I relized that " Eri Quarry lod fix " didn't work as supposed to I'm still not sure , but I think you better delete " eri_01__strm_0.ymap " inside of stream folder ( if you had the same problem ) otherwise , Yes . Drop all the content if nothing went wrong for you
