I dropped the RSAO file into my lml file it shows up in my lennys mod loader but the sound doesnt change. Did i f*#@ something up or does this mode break if I have some other mod

If you have another audio mod that replaces the Scofield's audio that's why

I have the RWAO mod but i either override it,remove it or even replaced the schofield sound of the rwao file with the rsao one but nothing changed. I think I have done something else wrong

Well you might be using a cracked rdr2 otherwise you may have installed it wrong.

bought it from a key site maybe dont remember but I downloaded change rar to zip from a cloud converter and put the RWAO into the game directory Lml but it still doesnt work. Most mods work for me but sound mods are not. Any idea why that could be?. I also use rockstar games launcher and not steam to play if that maybe affects the mod

I also use rockstar launcher, make you installed the mod correctly and also you may have corrupted the files when converting, a rar file is a zip btw.

Fair enough, there are quiet versions for some but I must admit this one is loud.

I love the idea that youre going for and I appreciate figuring out the sound modding but this is an unrealistic sound (not enough transient punch/occluding in the wrong direction compared to irl as I have shot 45 colt and 45 S&W before) as in the video the camera/mic is placed away from the shooters perspective. I am also not sure about the audio fade in and outs you are editing in (applies to the springfield overhaul too as if you were to shoot a caliber that large in the open, the sound will last quite a while as it travels). If you are somehow able to find or record a sound that is recorded from the shooter's perspective and undo all the edits you made that would be amazing as that would make it realistic as the title suggests.

Perhaps it may be a easier choice to shift the goal away from realism and use sounds from other games, like hunt: showdown.

I can contribute to this with better sources and professionally edit the audio files if you would like.

I totally agree and love your idea it's just the audio doesn't last very long in game and they have to be a certain length usually max 2 seconds. I can't record audio myself as I live in NZ and finding POV audio for certain weapons is incredibly hard to find sometimes. I have only edited in fade outs and not in's as like I stated the audio can only be a few seconds and otherwise it will abruptly stop. I will try look into video games for audio but I have also gotten praises from a weapons expert for the limitations I am facing. Though if you would like to help that would be amazing as I am new to all of us this and these were made in rushes too. I feel as the Mauser is the best I've done overall but I try my best to make the audio last long as possible and that one is pretty much POV.

      Western's Audio tool: https://github.com/WesternGamer/RDR2AudioTool/releases/latest
You need this to replace the audio, just extract the awc you want and open it in this tool and you'll be able to replace specific audio files.

Can you tell me how to make a sound replacement? I downloaded this program, prepared the file, click "replace" and an error pops up

Hey mate. Not a complaint, and I don't know why, but this seems to affect (In my game) The "Otis Miller Revolver"
It still sounds amazing but I was just wondering if you'd perhaps knew a reason for this?

    Thanks mate, Amazing Sound nonetheless!

Thanks happy to hear you like the sounds. It isn't a bug or an issue than it replaces the Otis Miller Revolver sounds because that is also a Schofield are Revolver but just reskinned. I can't really do anything about if you wanted it separate and wouldn't make much sense either as once again its the same gun, all the best 👍

Thank you that means a lot! That would be amazing if you could send those, I'm very new to modding so I can't push out mods fast but I would definitely love to devote my time to it!
