If anyone is having trouble with the scroll wheel not working like I was, you have to rebind the next weapon and previous weapon keybinds to the mousewheel.
I just wanted to say thank you for this mod! Now I can play using only my keyboard and mouse, without needing a gamepad anymore. The features of this mod should have been included in the vanilla game. Great work!
I never really comment, but I have to make an exception. This mod is made perfectly, its simple, easy to use and understand with great and detailed explanations. Just purely professional.
I have not downloaded the mod yet but I have a question about player movement in general. Could it be possible to port 1st and 3rd person animation/movement of the Red Dead Online character? Specifically, faster movement when AIDS, quicker and more sporadic in general.
This already was the best walking speed mod when it released but you somehow make it better with each and every release. Mad respect!
You really seem to know what you're doing with scripting. I don't know if you take or even consider request, so feel free to ignore this paragraph if you don't. But I've been looking/waiting for a mod that automatically activates first person mode when entering an interior or at least one that makes switching between first and third person possible with just clicking the switch camera button once and maybe make it so that holding the switch camera button and scrolling the mouse zooms the camera in our out. Has nothing to do with this mod but I thought I'd faunally share what I had wanted ever since I started playing the game. And you've done some camera related mods (for RDR2 and Witcher 3) in the past, so mayyybeeee...
Anyway, thank you so much for what you've done. This sort of QoL mods is why I mod games. :)
Auto first person camera indoors. While you are indoors, you can toggle it off with X.
Hold X for 30 ms(this is done so I can keep the switch shoulder functionality which is usually on X) to switch between first person camera and your last third person camera state(for example, if you used Far camera, you will return to Far camera when you hold X).
I don't know if I can do the fine control with mouse wheel, but this might work for you
I don't deserve you, man! This is absolutely perfect! I've done some quick testing and it seems to work flawlessly. I'll let you know if I spot any irregularities but so far, so good. :)
I wouldn't even mind if this were to stay the final version but then again you have proven that you always find something to make it even better.
Thank you so much! (...also for your Witcher 3 mods, of which I haven been using quite a few for a long time now. They made my last playthrough soooo much better)
You should upload these two as independent mods. I accidentally came across the auto first person camera indoors one here in the comments and I am using it ever since. It's a great little mod, thank you. :)
This is easily the best movement mod for RDR2 ever made, incredible work you did with this. Unfortunately none of the hotkeys were working for me, but downgrading to version 1.5.5 of the mod fixed it, it's perfect now.
I would like to suggest another mod idea in case you're interested, of bringing another controller feature that doesn't translate as well into m&k, the slow draw. On controller, lightly holding the right trigger will cause the character to start slowly drawing his sidearm, like in duel encounters, and then fully holding the trigger will make the player draw his gun and immediately enter dead eye mode. This feature is still present on mouse and keyboard somewhat, but it can only be triggered when having your camera locked onto a ped, and once the input prompt bar is filled the character will immediately draw his gun, without the control of the player. I would really appreciate it if you managed to make the slow draw controls on a keyboard and mouse act more like they do on a controller, but I'm not exactly sure how you could do that seeing as mice don't have pressure sensitive buttons like controller triggers do.
Been enjoying the mod thoroughly, but ran into a bit of a conflict. Dunno if I could change some settings or if the two mods simply conflict too much with one another, however, I wanted to use the mod 'Remove speed limits'. It would remove the slowdowns on random bridges and in towns on the horse. On the other hand it messes with this mod. Was wondering if there was anything that could be done to make both work or include removing certain speed limitations on bridges and in towns within this one. Checked the setting for respecting boundaries but it did not stop the horse from being slowed in towns.
It's not a big deal if that isn't something to do. I'll try to figure out something.
Noticed that pressing ALT+ENTER and going fullscreen mode from windowed borderless seems to be making SHIFT and ALT functionality to stop working (scroll wheel continues to work).
