So just to be clear, does that mean it'll show just for when you've started/begun to participate in a random event, or will it even appear when that white dot would show up on the minimap to let you know that there's one near by? Because if it's the latter, I'll love you forever. It's the one reason why I haven't been able to bring myself to disable my minimap when playing.
The minimap is not showing for me when waypoint is active despite being set to on in the config file. Will need to test more to see if it's working under other conditions. The only other mod relating to minimaps i have installed is Disable enemy radar at Red Dead Redemption 2 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) From what i can see it doesn't alter the same files.
EDIT: Nevermind it;s working. You have to have minimap on 'always showing' in game first before this mod can hide it and display it dynamically.
when I have in the .ini I have : ON_HORSEBACK=0 and WEAPON_IN_HAND=1. on the horse could we see the mini map when I have the weapon in hand? currently this is not the case.
Hello, I really appreciate you adding the functionality of the mini map popping on screen for when random encounters appear. That was the only issue I had with the previous version of this mod and luckily it is now fixed! However, for some reason, I cannot get the mini map to appear when I press the button which brings up the hud. Normally when I am out scouting about on foot, the mini map is gone which is great but then if I want to quickly bring it up I can only do so by toggling it rather than just tapping the hud button once to bring it up briefly. I understand this is a minor detail and maybe I am just nitpicking but if it is not too much of a bother, I think restoring this feature would make it the definitive mini map mod imho. But either way, thank you for your work!
Eh so the only time it turns off is while on foot no weapons, so gang camp is a total hassle w all the icons, missions that will autostart if you get too close to a gang member etc I get that you have settings in an ini though nice. If you've got bounties enhanced or contracts or amjm might not be triggered to appear either.
Sadly the mini map is kind of necessary at most times such an ugly intrusion, something like ACodysseys NWSE and etc bar might have been less intrusive idk and dark mode for it at night too would have been nice, listening RS?
Bruh the hotkey is there so you can toggle the minimap whenever you need it. It'll stay on the screen until you press the hotkey again. Also it should work with other mods as long as you enabled the "set mission flag" in their ini files...

Very good mod for immersion. I think it's a shame that you can't make it appear briefly (like in vanilla) when you press D-pad down on the gamepad.
