Sorry feller, didn't put the requirements in before I posted.
You need Scripthook and Lenny's Mod Loader, they're very easy to download and there's loads of guides on YouTube. When these are installed: Unzip the Mod File (the one you get when you press manual download) Put this Unzipped file into the file named 'lml' in the game directory. Make sure that you open Lenny's Mod Loader and that it is activated before starting your game.
Perhaps you could do a version of this for the Single Action Army (Cattleman Revolver and unique variants) that slows down Arthur half-cocking the hammer, opening the loading gate, and ejecting the first cartridge to simulate him changing cylinders. I do realize that's why people carried a second (or third) revolver back then, as it was simpler and faster to just switch to a new weapon, but swapping the cylinder is a cool trope that you see in many westerns that would be awesome to see in RDR2.
That would be interesting to do. I always wanted to experiment with the reloads and making them more realistic, like having Arthur eject all of the shells first before reloading or having him visually half cock the hammer. Even speedloading could somewhat be replicated with modified Colt Single Action Armys where the cylinder can be removed and replaced by releasing the base pin.
Its annoying but were limited to changing the speed of the reloads. So the same animation would play but at a slower speed. I've wanted to do this but it doesn't really achieve the realism you and I would both love to see. For the Cattleman in game, the empty cartridges don't slide out of the cylinder in a satisfying way, and slowing the reload just reveals the jankiness of the animations.
I am going to slow the reloads and cocking speed to be more realistic in a future mod, thank you for the idea!
Thank you for your time spent making these mods! I really appreciate the realism they add to my favorite game. It's very refreshing to see a realistic weapon mod that is not a 1911 or a Colt Python, while I love those two firearms, and I think it's incredibly impressive that they can even be added to the game in the first place, the thought of having a .45 ACP or a .357 Magnum handgun in the black powder era seriously irks me.
The only file changed is weapons.ymt. I suppose if you had another mod that edits this file, the 2 mods will conflict. I know Maverick weapons and a few mods that change the stats of guns may edit this.
I also didn't apply this to any of the variations or dual wielding for any of the guns.
If you were using one of those, it wouldn't have worked. I'm very new to modding, so my bad. This has been changed in the new files that were uploaded today to include all variations, aswell as dual wielding.
