About this mod
With this mod, you can experience RDR2 all over again with the thrill of finding NEW and UNIQUE characters across the entire map. Each PED model has had its name changed from STRANGER to a more accurate name based on their title, appearance and occupation whilst staying true and LORE FRIENDLY.

Potential for an update sometime is possible, but not at the moment.
With BETTER CHARACTER NAMES, you can experience RDR2 all over again with the thrill of finding NEW and UNIQUE characters across the entire map. Each PED model has had its name changed fromSTRANGER to a more accurate name based on their title, appearance and occupation whilst staying true and LORE FRIENDLY.
NOTE: The PEDs shown within the GIF above are just a HANDFUL of the MANY characters within RDR2. There is no way I can showcase them all. Furthermore, I wouldn't want to ruin your experience by showcasing all the new name changes.
As you travel throughout your adventure, you will now encounter people whose names will vary depending on their title, appearance, occupation AND location, as well as other factors. Therefore, the STRANGER title (even though they're most likely strangers to you) will no longer apply to them.
For instance, you will find names that suit a lower social class within society in the slums of Saint Denis. In contrast, you will find names that fit a more affluent position within the main district.
Example 1 | Slums/Outskirts of Saint Denis | Peasants, Bums etc.
Example 2 | Main Saint Denis District | Gentleman, Businessman etc.

Since they don't get used in single-player (from what I know), I did not rename the multiplayer models.
In the future, I may update this mod to include the remaining multiplayer models.
INSTALLATION:
Drag and drop BetterCharacterNames.asi and BetterCharacterNames.dat into your ROOT RDR2 folder (The one that has RDR2.exe within it).
CONFLICTS:
None that I know of...
ISSUES:

Currently, there may be a mismatch on names for certain PED models... (For example, the Station Clerks)
This is because I have not been able to rename the titles that appear when within a certain radius of that specific character
(For the PED models that do have the pop up within radius name feature)
On my end, I can fix it by just renaming the PED to what it is in that title. However, some PEDS are used elsewhere, so this may create confusion later. There is also potential for this to apply to gang members and/or minor characters in the story.
This mod was tested after completion of the story and is advised to be used then.
I haven't tried out the mod in the story yet, but I believe the issue I state above may potentially appear here and there. Nevertheless, it should be rare (hopefully).
