First of all, thanks for the great mod. I found a solution to the "The time sets to 8:05 when loading the map" problem. Just make the change shown in the image on the map file and save it, it can also be turned on read-only if necessary.
Ok...I almost skipped this mod because of the comments, the need for map editor, and the fact that I'm already heavily modded on a steam deck. I just decided to give it a shot anyways.
First, I'll be honest. I'm on a cracked version. I own the game, but I got the crack to avoid Rockstar Launcher. Only important insofar as the version I'm playing on.
Installed Map Editor according to the instructions. Easy. Installed this mod as per instructions. No problem. Loaded into game, got a notification about numlock. Turned it on, notification vanished. Changed some lines according to a recent comment, game loads at whatever time I left now. No FPS problems (beyond what I brought with me...again, steam deck).
I'm not saying people aren't having legit problems, I'm saying I don't have ANY and the mod looks good so far. Teleported to a couple locations to make sure it's working. No FFFFF errors or anything. Just follow the instructions for the mods and hopefully you guys have the same success.
Just posting so if anyone else has doubts like I did, they don't just see a bunch of negative comments
This is not Map Editor mod discussion, but that install was quite straightforward, one (1) file, one (1) folder, both go into the root directory of the game (where the game .exe file is). No "archives" are in the Map Editor download, and no mention of "archives" in its install instructions...
For Ambient NPCS mod, there are two (2) files within nested folders that need to be properly installed in the correct locations, so follow the instructions, there is no mention of any "archive" required for this mod. Are you talking about the OLD deprecated\obsolete versions of the mod???
Archived files The files in this section are for reference only and are no longer supported by the mod author. Please ensure you are using the latest version before asking for support with this mod.
You are either making this more difficult than it is, or you are not RTFM. Apologies, but perhaps reconsider modding this game.
For those with FFFFF crash there may be a solution, it works for me at least.
You need to install the version 2 of the Script Hook, not the version linked in this mods install instructions: https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/1472?tab=description
I also installed Syyyke's RDR2 Spawns FIX https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/5495?tab=description which maintains:
Fixes spawn issues.
Adds more streaming data memory meaning adds more room for mods not just upping the texture pools.
Various pool increases to eliminate the Unknown error FFFFFFFF curse.
Thanks to Syyyke for taking the time to assist a noob with RDR2 modding.
Please, can you uploud "Open All Interiors" mod, or something. Its off on nexus... And Map Editor is too bugg, dont working and etc. I like the idea of the mod, and i want to download, but i cant..
So the problem is that the creator no longer updates the mod, I can download it through all mods, but we are dependent on solutions in the comments. So the problem is that the creator no longer updates the mod, I can download it through all mods, but we are dependent on solutions in the comments.
Hey I had the same problem with that FFFFFF error, I had this mod installed through Map Editor Autoload, tons of maps on ymap format and varios ones on the Rampage Spooner Autoload folder as well, but this ones don't spawn NPC's, which is another problem I want to know more of it. It's a matter of map editor and rampage right? Only in Map Editor Auto Load the maps works 100%.
EDIT: Sorry, it wasn't natie camp, at least it's working fine for me that one. The one which triggered the FFFFFF error was this : https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/833?tab=files and another one I forgot to. I think it's more a problem of memory pool or something since when I load tons of maps a yellow message regarding this appear of the bottom of the screen warning me of that issue and recommending that I leave the place to other with less objects.
IDK, I'm in fact a bit newbie to the modding scene of RDR2 and the map things are newer even.
EDIT 2 : I think I can confirm that FFFFFFF error it's a memory problem when too much objects are loaded at once. After trials and errors and merging lots of maps, it's not a matter of combination with X or Y map, it's just that when you reach the limit, you reach the limit. IDK if it's something related to hardware or engine, though.
Were you able to fix it at all? Please tell me because it’s happening to me. But it did work when I first installed it. Idk what’s happening I’m running no other mods
NO, not a memory problem. I have clean new install, the only mod installed (other than script extender and NoSlide related) is Ambient NPCs, and the two apps required to support\install it. I have plenty of RAM and VRAM, it is not a memory issue. There must be a problem with this mod or the supporting apps, perhaps Open All Doors since it is off Nexus and may have updated and could be incompatible.
If anyone has Ambient NPCs working please post, I will start a thread on steam.

- The time sets to 8:05 when loading the map. As long as we're stuck with MapEditor 1.6.1, that will stay
- bug with PDO : some (rare) NPCs may look "tired" and not moved.
- the floor in ER General Store is weird. This is how R* made it.
- Some NPCs attack you on sight / spawn on roofs : AFAIK I've fixed those issues, if it happens again I will be very sad.
