Ped Damage Overhaul Compatibility (10 comments)

i've noticed a bug with PDO where any any 1899 guns that are duplicated variants of vanilla guns, like the Model 100, Winchester models 1873 and 1894, and all of the different versions of the double action, don't induce dying states. Whichever variant of each shows up in the weapon wheel first seems to work just fine, but every other doesn't. This includes the Navy pistol, which might also be why so many people are reporting 22lr sounds and damage coming from it (though the sounds may be intentional given it's a smaller, more primitive round, so I can accept that specifically). I've tried both the "compatibility .ini" (which is probably outdated and I don't think would really do anything anyway, though I appreciate the effort), the default .ini, and lots in between. I also already have PDO loaded first and set to overwrite.

Surely I can't be the only one experiencing this? At first I thought the "duplicate" guns were just much weaker than the others but I figured out it's the dying states from the PDO health overlay feature, and they seem to work just fine, performing about the same as the "base" guns, without PDO.

I'm not totally sure which mod is causing the issue but I'm thinking maybe PDO doesn't recognize the "duplicate" guns as actual weapons and therefore thinks they shouldn't induce dying states? I'm not sure what to do about it though. It's a real shame because I think this is a dealbreaker for 1899 for me, despite how much I enjoy the modified weapon behaviors, especially for the shotguns.

WHM, if you're reading this, I would very much appreciate if you updated your Version 1 of this mod to give it some of the love you've given the main build gameplay-wise, but without the extra base gun variants. If not, I still appreciate all the work you've put into this and all your other mods, you're one of the best <3

Edit- So after more testing, seems like nearly every issue goes away if you use the default ini that comes with PDO.

Using the compatibility ini, PDO doesn't function properly and NPC's with high health / equal npchealthmin and max numbers have the melee bug. This extends to bullets as well on many of the same npcs, their hp won't go down. Though they will still die from a bullet in the head.

Was this ever resolved? I think, it's working well with default PDO for me, but I don't know what is unintended behavior.

Use the default ini that comes with PDO. Not the compatibility version here. Should work fine then.

While using PDO, 1899 Firearms and your PDO config file i'm unable to knockout anyone in a fistfight. The fight just goes on and on. Regarding combat that's the only issue i've discovered.
