Game unplayable without infinite ammo and instant hacking sounds like a genuine skill issue...

Great mod! But it doesn't seem to work in conjunction with https://www.nexusmods.com/prey2017/mods/22?tab=description

I'm glad you like it.  I primarily built it for my own use, but I thought it would be good to share it.  I'm currently working on version 2.00.  It should put this version to shame.  I also did a quick check to see where the source of the conflict might be, and I found that Real Lights 1.4 alters a number of different files.  So, it is likely to have conflicts with almost every other mod you could install.  In the case of Mimic Hunter, the conflict I immediately saw was that both mods alter the gameoptions.xml file in the Libs/Config/ folder.  In the case of Mimic Hunter, it was for the purpose of giving you it's unlimited ammo option.  Mimic Hunter is also incompatible with other loot mods like Greed, All Chips Mod, etc.  But is likely compatible with Day2 mods, and with the mods which alter the presale bonus loot.  It only alters the standard loot in the game.  The new version, however, will address the stacking sizes of key items, have mimics dropping fabrication plans and chipsets, gets rid of the loot requirements in the previous version, and it adjusts the quantities of loot dropped by mimics to maximize game play.  In my tests so far, things have been going pretty well.  And I'm currently testing an optional component which makes changes to the Talos1 lobby to address issues with keycards in the game to improve gameplay in that area as well.

This is an excellent mod.  Were you able to find a solution to make your mod work with any of the Real Lights 1.4 versions?  Such as Balanced, Lighters, or Lite?

If so great, let me know what you suggest for a replace or mod merge.  If not then I will drop Real Lights 1.4 in favor of your mod!

Unfortunately no.  There really isn't any clear solution except to create a version of that mod that incorporates mimic hunter's features into it.  It alters a lot of different files in the game.  So, it's not going to be compatible with most other mods.  Mimic Hunter included.  Basically, a person would need to take the same files from their mod, and add the changes to them that I did for Mimic Hunter.  And then make certain that there are no conflicts in the game created by it.  That's a little beyond the scope of what I had intended to do with the mod.  But if anyone wants to take on that challenge, I already give permission for people to use my mod files for things of that sort.  It's right there in my mod info.  If the other mod creator is as gracious, perhaps someone will be able to do something with the two mods.

i have a question for you. would it be possible to take your mod and only use the lobby level pak and not the rest to have the keycards work like you say or would that still require the rest of your mod? i have other mods which wouldnt work and also some aspects i prefer the original way and would rather not use the entire mod.

Actually, what you are saying probably would work just fine.  It's been a while since I have worked on my mod, but the level component was intended as an optional bonus item.  It doesn't have very much to do with the rest of the mod.  It just seemed like something that would go nicely with it.

Sorry, I haven't been on here in quite some time. But my mod doesn't do anything with light levels.  It modifies the loot table and the options menu to give you the ability to turn unlimited ammo on and off.  And then there is an optional component for version two that alters one of the levels of the game to give you keycards.  It's possible that the two mods are trying to alter the same files for some reason.  And that might prevent one or both of them from working properly.  There is no way for me to guarantee compatibility with other mods.  If two mods alter the same files, they simply won't work together.  A lot of mods for Prey won't.

Sorry.  I haven't been on here in ages.  But I don't think so, because that mod modifies the loot table like mine does.  Basically, they are altering the same files.  One will overwrite what the other does.  A mod that called a, "a total gameplay overall" is not likely to be compatible with other mods.  Basically, Prey mods create new versions of files used by the game.  If my mod changes a file, but another mod changes a completely different file, there is no problem.  But if they try to change the same file, one of them is going to win that fight and the other is going to lose.  Typically with messed up results for the player.  Most mods are not going to play nice with each other unless they do completely different things.

Thanks.  So far, I've only noticed a slight glitch with one key hacking while I was playing with version 2.00.  Once in a great while during a level 3 or level 4 hack, you will get the normal mini-game instead of the modified one.  But if you fail because of that and try again, it works just fine.  I think there is likely a fix for it, but it's such a minor issue that I haven't bothered.  It's only a slight inconvenience for someone who does a large number of level 3 and level 4 hacks.  Most people would probably need to play the game several times before ever encountering the issue.  And even then, all you have to do is try the hack a second time.  Otherwise, during my play throughs everything worked well.  Including the talos1 lobby edit.  But version 2.00 is a huge improvement over version 1.00.  So, definitely go with that version and the optional Talos 1 lobby edit.  I wouldn't mind, however, any thoughts people had about the features of the mod and how well they worked for them.  I mainly wrote the mod for my own use, but I figured I might as well publish it in case someone else could get some use out of it.  Or maybe it would give them some ideas for mods of their own.
