Great Cakes is the best!! Easily the best at making fur. Keep it up and dont listen to the negatives. Yours are the only mods I am using. Making a zoo of entirely cake mods!! Thank you for doing this!!

I think I'm one of the biggest and most massive fans of Cake. Some of the best art I have ever seen, but as incredible as my view on this might sound this is my feedback:
The curse of the lion continues, it started with Frontier, using the Lion for the official art of the game, the most cartonish and child like animal in the game. Then Gabboi made amazing lion, probably the best model I will say, but some things like the mane, etc still did not look too natural and maybe even cartonish, but a massive improvement from Frontier.
Then Cake, was supposed to take the cake, and kill it like cake usually does, but these lions are totally off in my opinion, the manes look weird, the hairs are like all over the place and because of their lack of movement, it looks too unrealistic, also Gabboi muscle structure is better, some of the lions look a bit deformed. They look like old taxidermia where the animals just look off. I think Cake's incredible use of fur did not work well in this one.
I guess we will never get a perfect Lion something will always be missing.
Ivan, I feel obligated to remind you that modding is a hobby for all of us, nobody is obliged to give the most realistic product.
I would love for you to consider for a second how criticism should be delivered - many mod authors here do not appreciate unwarranted criticism. Even if it does come from a positive place of having a favorite author, appreciating their work, but then using it to break down a new release from them, it can be considered hurtful to the receiving party.
If you believe something to be ”off” about a mod, you are welcome to reach out to the author and ask if they are comfortable with constructive criticism. It is a much more acceptable way of delivering it instead of outright saying something is not acceptable to your eyes.
You are getting these animals completely free as well, and as the saying goes, beggars cannot be choosers. You are more than welcome to commission a mod yourself to fit what you believe to be the “perfect Lion” as you describe. Just as someone commissioned this bunch of three Lion subpopulations and was happy with them - you are more than welcome to do the exact same.
Over the years I have seen and received many hurtful comments from various users on this website and I want to make it clear that at the end of the day, we are just also people who are trying to contribute to a game that we all love and appreciate in our own ways. The comparisons from one modder to another are hurtful and very disappointing to see from a community that benefits from the work of authors who do this for free. We are not faceless game development companies, we are people who create animals for fun, or necessity, or passion. We have feelings, too. I would love to help usher in a more understanding and kinder community where criticism is respectfully given after seeing if someone is welcome to it, and helpful and useful criticism at that. I urge you to consider this in the future before you drop a comment like this.
Ivan I can't even believe you would even say something like this I mean this is just a childish comment. These people are doing this for free and you have the nerve to criticize it like that?
