This mod has been outdated for a while, but I have rewritten it to update it to work with the newest version of Pillars of Eternity. You can download and try the rewrite here! Thank you!
Здравствуйте! Характеристики квестовых спутников поменять получилось (ловкость, сила, ...). Но после перезагрузки и переходами между локациями, характеристики снова возвращаются к исходным. Как можно закрепить изменения на постоянной основе?
Hello! The characteristics of the quest companions were changed (dexterity, strength, ...).But after restarting and switching between locations, the characteristics return to their original ones. How can I consolidate the changes permanently?
Привет, в файле по пути Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\Managed\iemod\custom можно поменять и в игре в настройках мода поставить галочку Load custom companion attributes. Как то так
For anyone who was using/wants to use this after the recent (June 2024) base game patches, right click on the game in your Steam library and select 'Properties...'
Then go to the 'Betas' section and change 'Beta Participation' from 'None' to the 'legacy' option
The game should then update and its name in the library will change to include '[legacy]'
Many of the top comments with both recent updates is "now the game won't even start; goes to a black screen with a cursor".
And my own peeve is a 20gb is now a 50gb game w/o adding new lands, quests, voices, etc. The explanation is the new engine needs more room. My counter argument is this should have been released as PoE Special Edition. Imagine if Bethesda had overhauled the engine of Skyrim LE to next gen and hordes of players suddenly could not run their game on their computer because specs were increased w/o warning? They'd be pissed.
It was a nice gesture of Obsidian to "update" a decade old game, but it isn't going to benefit anyone with older hardware, os or smaller storage. They can't use it. Happy I could roll it back and call it a day.
Had they just fixed all the damn bugs in a ~400mb patch, it would have been more than sufficient.
Rolling back via the configuration sub-menu in GoG Galaxy will allow you to still utilize this mod. Side note, if you save the game on the current patched version, then roll back and load that save. You will experience graphical issues, just a fair warning. Make certain you have a few saved versions of 1318.
They didn't even patch the bugs people reported in the six months between announcing and releasing this patch, so any kind of new feature is completely out the window, in my opinion. It's obvious that maybe one dude is working on this game in his lunch break once every three weeks or so. But to be fair, it's surprising someone is working on it in the first place, considering how old the game is now.
For the fact they basically did nothing (as in fixing stuff, i still have the bug of someone losing all his gear when i forget i cant change the party in caed nua hostel house thing. This bug was reported first in 2015 lol) for most players, they killed one if not the most important mod..
I legit assume its just to announce in a meeting that the Version number changed and they can include the game in the current statistic lol
Launched it today, just out of curiosity after seeing the PoE update. The Patchwork launches, but the System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null error happens. Game functions normally without IE mod. It's weird that the Patchwork application does try to update the mod.
What are the odds this is working with the surprise new patch today? What are the odds that someone else will even stumble across this comment in 2024? Haha.
I tried it, game won't start. Wondering if there is some magical year old fix that I have missed.
Yeah I have the same question - and did the same thing, tried it with a fresh install of the new patch yesterday as soon as it was available and it crashes/hangs at start up with IE Mod installed - I have GOG backup installers so can install to 1318 which is what I have been using IE Mod with, but the new (large) patch obviously breaks something in relation to IE Mod. Would be good if it will eventually get an update to work with the new patch as would be good to be able to use both?
Well just FWIW I kinda answered my own question and did some testing myself and I'm assuming no from what I found (game won't load with some mods and with others changing file extension to new existing replace file doesn't seem to manifest mod changes 'in game' - so won't work with new 1.3.7.1377 patch (which GOG shows as 1.3.7.1431 and Steam as 1.3.4.1377) without the mod being updated.
P.S. It's been reported below and elsewhere the dev (Bester?) wants to be paid to update it (presumably given the time its likely to require). I have not heard this first hand this is just what was stated by others when the beta patch came out in January. Perhaps everyone could chip in US$1 each to fund it? Should be able to raise a few hundred US pretty easily...
...I'd happily pay a couple of dollars to have the use of IE Mod for a few more years...

This is a proposal I would support if it is clarified how to organize it. Rechecking and possibly adapting all of the various functions which are provided by the mod may be a tedious effort. Though also possible further adaptions should somehow be included, just to be sure, as in the Obisidian forum thread new bugs for the v1.3.7.0.1377 were mentioned which might lead to another future patch.
Does anyone have a link to the actual source code for this mod? The link in the description is not the most recent version. (I'd be happy to help the original authors update the mod for the new patch, but I need the source first lol)
I have been able to contact Bester the mods author. His stance on the matter is clear. If we want this Mod updating then he wants to be paid for it. Current asking price, $300.
Needlessly convoluted install instructions. The author could just as easily have made a folder called Pillars of Eternity with the correct folder structure that's drag and drop. Genuinely perplexed as to why this mod ended up this way.

Someone contacted the mod author to ask if they could update it themselves and the mod author said they would do it for $300 USD lmfao. What a guy

Bless this game.
