About this mod

Armor can now provide damage reduction based on their AC bonus. Configurable.

Permissions and credits
Unarmored classes usually have some special abilities to make up for their lack of AC, in this game, this has gone too far, where actual armors become a little bit underpowered. Also it doesn't make sense to me that armor is equal to evasion. It's a common sense that armored warriors are not as good dodgers but good parriers and more durable to damage.

This mod made it so that armors actually absorb some damage. You can configure as you like.

Features
  • A unit with armor gains an untyped Damage Reduction based on its AC from armor.
  • This is stackable with normal Damage Reduction effects and can be penetrated by an effect that says "penetrate damage reduction". NOTE: Penetrating Strike does not work in current patch. This is not caused by this mod.
  • You may preview your unit's armor DR in their stats tab, where you could see their vanilla DR. It is labaled as N/Armor. It doesn't really have an exception.

Configurations
  • AC to bonus DR convertion radio. Default 50%. Rounded down.
  • Armor DR progression type. Default none; can be set to "+2.5% every level" and "+5% every level". Must have at least 1 point of armor DR to receive this effect. Does not affect enemies. These percentages are directly added to the bonus DR convertion radio.
  • Armor DR penalty type. Default none; can be set to "-1" and "-2". Does not affect enemies. Does not cause DR to become minus.
  • What kind of damage should the DR apply to. By default, physical and elemental damage only. Can be set to physical only, or apply to all damage, even force damage.
  • If AC should be substracted by armor DR when checking hit rolls. Does not affect crit confirmation rolls. Does not affect hit rolls where armor AC is already neglected, like contact ones. Default no. Note that armor DR progression does not cause the substraction to progress.
  • If natural armor should be counted in. Default yes.
  • If virtual armors such as "Mage Armor" and "Bracers of Armor" should be counted in. Default no.

Known Issues
  • If you don't count "Mage Armor" and "Bracers of Armor" in and override an actual armor with a Mage Armor of higher AC, the actual armor will lose its DR. I'm not planning to fix this at this time, because it will be tedious, and you won't cast Mage Armor on an armored character anyway.
