This is fantastic! I have used the save from the Gray Garrison once, and it worked smoothly. I'm now thinking about using the save at Drezen, but wondered about the romance with Lann. Did the Commander tell him that she appreciated his concerns or that he shouldn't think of her that way, back at the Crusader Camp? Just wondering if it's some kind of soft-lock romance option or not. Thinking about romancing him this time (tho' it's difficult because I'm so in love with Daeran), and I wondered if I needed to tweak anything in ToyBox to make it work.
Thank you so much for this! I do love a good game save!
First of all, thank you for this mod! I've been using it extensively to get through up to the wardstone.
I'm curious if you will know the answer to something though, if I ever try to make a new save with your save game as a template, it doesn't go into a different 'character file' so to speak when loading save data, it only changes the top name of the group of saves.
Do you perhaps know how to split these grouped saves apart? So that using your base template doesn't put all saves associated with it in the same 'group' so to speak.
You could make different folders for each characters and manually switch out the saves depending on which you're gonna play. I always have only one character's saves in the game files due to some of my characters having the same name, it can get confusing.
@Eldwen12w (and author, out of interest). There's a way of doing that. What you need to do is:-
1) develop your character, with its new name, from the save file in this mod as you wish, then make a manual save. Then
2) start a NEW character with the SAME NAME. I don't know whether this level 1 character should have exactly the same level 1 characteristics as the one you developed from the save in this mod, but just to be on the safe side it's probably wise to make it identical at level 1. Creating a new character with the new name then creates a new "game folder" for that name. Then what you need to do is
3) Use WinRAR to open up the save file (which is basically an archive containing .jsons and other things) of the NEW character, look for the "header.json" file, open it up with a text editor and copy the "Game ID" there. Then
4) Past that Game ID into the "header.json" of the save archive of the FULLY DEVELOPED character (the leveled-up one you made from the save in this mod). Note that WinRAR gives you the option of re-saving an edited file back into an archive you've opened with it. That's very handy (otherwise you'd have to laboriously unpack the archive, edit the file, then repack the archive). I don't know if any other compression utilities do that, but check if yours does as it does make this process much easier. Then
5) Next time you fire up the game, you'll find that that save (with the fully developed character) has automagically moved to the "game folder" of the NEW character, and the game folder for this mod's character will have reverted back to its original name (Neried or whatever it is).
You can actually do this process with your own games - i.e. "farm off" new characters or new builds from saves in the progress of your own game.
If you saw the notes on toybox it states not to unlock the mythic class or if you unlock it you can only use it to test builds. But you will not be able to select them and use them on your current save. In short there is no way to unlock them using mods. You need to grind the quest or find a save that has the mythic path you want to use.
Is there any saves with all side quests done up to this point?, I explored and did everything before mythic path unlock but accidentally bungled saving before the choice so my last save is back at gray garrison
